Most private and public institutions have switched to many online platforms, for instance, Zoom, Google Classrooms, Microsoft Teams, etc.
As we know that time, we all Indians should understand and accept online education.
MERITS of ONLINE EDUCATION:-
1. Learning under a single platform:-
Online education allows learning a wide range and different age groups of people under a single platform, whatever they use at their own pace without compromising on their other responsibilities.
2. According to STUDENTS point of view:-
If we see from STUDENT point of view, they're finding it as a change from previous strict schedules and long-distance commuting to attend classes.
3. According to TEACHERS point of view:-
According to TEACHERS' point of view, it is the more fantastic and efficient way as now from online platform teachers can use several tools for explaining the method to students such as video, Pdfs, podcasts, etc.
4. Regular Attendance:-
Since students can take online classes from home or their choice, there are very few chances of missing out on the lesson as it is very comfortable for every student.
5. Affordability:-
As we know, many institutions previously charge a handsome amount of fees as they have to pay their faculty and rent. But now, as everything is online so they don't have to pay rent; hence they charge fewer fees from the students, which is excellent news for every student.
DEMERITS of ONLINE EDUCATION:-
1. Students face different challenges:-
For many students, there is one, and the biggest challenge to face daily is that they struggle to focus on screen and study for a longer duration of time. As a student is online and having a Mobile or Laptop in their hand, there is a greater chance that he might get distracted by social media and other sites.
2. Network Breakdown:-
There is most common and biggest demerit of online education is Network Breakdown. Though every country has a great focus on the betterment of a good network system, there are still many smaller cities and villages where the students face abundant problems related to a network system. This may also discourage students from attending regular classes as they have a human mind, and they will be surely frustrated by this issue.
3. Health issues:-
Online learning also causes several health issues because a student attends back-to-back lectures of either school or college. Many students are studying both from the institution and from tuition, so this can create eyesight issues and can suffer from headache problems and many more.
4. Detachment of physical activities:-
Due to online education, students, either in school or college, get detached from many physical activities they were doing in school or college that maintain and always keep them fit and healthy. It may hinder the development of children as they cannot enjoy such physical activities now because of this online education.
5. Taking online education leniently:-
Many students take online education very leniently for some of the other reasons; also, they procrastinate their assignments, homework, and classwork. They think that they are having abundant time to do their work and can do it later also. So this procrastination of work also affects their mark sheet and also they don't get such good marks whatever they wanted. They don't get satisfied with their own mark sheet.
Conclusion:-
Online classes being the need of the hour, should be a compliment and an adorable way of learning during this pandemic. Traditional classrooms are always the best mode of learning that helped students grow mentally and physically, and socially. But now, as we know that this time we all should be strong enough and motivated and help each and everyone around us. This is a crucial time, and we should don't waste this time; hence, learn new skills and knowledge and try to implement the same in your life. I'm sure that it will don't waste your time and this trial will also become an experience for everyone.
