Top 5 major causes of cancer

Causes of Cancer

Below is a list of the most studied known or suspected cancer risk factors. Some risk factors, such as aging, can be prevented, but others cannot. Certain types of cancer can be avoided by limiting exposure to avoidable risk factors.

1-obesity:

Obese people are more likely to develop  breast cancer (postmenopausal women), colon, rectum, endometrium (endometrium), esophagus, kidneys, pancreas, and gallbladder. Physical activity and maintaining a healthy weight can help reduce the risk of certain types of cancer. Adopting these good habits can reduce other conditions such as heart disease, type II diabetes, and high blood pressure. Whole any cancer treatment can be used as a first line of defense. The most common initial cancer treatment for cancer is surgery.

2-Tobacco:

Tobacco use is the leading cause of cancer and cancer-related deaths. Tobacco products and second-hand smoke contain many chemicals that damage DNA, so people who use tobacco products or are regularly exposed to second-hand smoke (also called second-hand smoke) A person may be at an increased risk of cancer. Tobacco use is associated with lung cancer, tracheal cancer, oral cavity cancer, esophageal cancer, laryngeal cancer, bladder cancer, kidney cancer, liver cancer, stomach cancer, pancreatic cancer, colon cancer, rectal cancer,  childhood cancer associated with cancer. It causes cervical cancer and acute myeloid leukemia. Smokeless tobacco users (snuff or chewing tobacco) had an increased risk of oral cavity, esophageal, and pancreatic cancer. There is no "safe amount of cigarettes". People who use tobacco products of any kind are actively encouraged to quit. People who quit smoking have a much longer life expectancy than those who continue to smoke, regardless of age. Quitting smoking at the time of cancer diagnosis also reduces the risk of death.

3-Alcohol consumption:

Excessive alcohol consumption increases the chances of developing mouth, throat, esophagus, larynx, liver and breast cancer. The more you drink, the higher your risk. People who drink and smoke have a significantly increased risk of cancer. Doctors say that people who drink should drink in moderation. According to US  dietary guidelines, moderate alcohol consumption is defined as one drink per day for women and two drinks per day for men. Certain compounds in red wine, such as resveratrol, have been shown to have anticancer effects. However, there is no evidence that drinking red wine reduces the risk of cancer.

4-Chronic inflammation:

Inflammation is a normal physiological response that helps heal damaged tissue. The inflammatory process begins when damaged tissue releases chemicals. White blood cells respond by producing chemicals that cause cells to divide and expand to repair damage. As soon as the wound heals, the inflammatory process ends. The inflammatory process in chronic inflammation can start without injury and does not end when it should. It is not always clear why inflammation persists. Chronic inflammation can be caused by persistent infections, adverse immune responses against normal tissues, obesity, and other factors. Inflammatory responses can damage DNA and ultimately lead to cancer. People with inflammatory bowel diseases, such as ulcerative colitis and Crohn's disease, are more likely to develop colon cancer.

5Age factor:

Aging is a major risk factor for cancer in general and for many specific types of cancer. Overall, cancer incidence increased steadily with age, from less than 25 cases per 100,000 people under the age of 20 to about 350 cases per 100,000 people between the ages of 45 and 49 years.
