Top 5 LGBTQ friendly cities in India

Around the world, more or less everyone knows about the term "LGBTQ." Worldwide, lots of social and legal changes are taking place for this community nowadays. Some news brings silver lining to those faces, but some other news makes them anxious about their well-being. Even though in India, things have changed positively during the past few years, this community still suffers a lot of discrimination. It comes across as bullying from people just because of their orientation. So, it is essential and crucial to choose the city wisely for living. Let's check out which cities are where one person from LGBTQ can lead a better life than the other Indian cities.

1)Bangalore

The IT hub of the country is always been my personal favorite for the modern lifestyle and LGBTQ-friendly atmosphere in most of the places. Most of the companies include LGBTQ-friendly HR policies, making the workspace safer for these folks. Lots of LGBTQ events take place in Bangalore. The southern part of Bangalore is more open-minded than the northern part. Here mostly people won't bother you as they've really no time to gossip about others. Overall it's the best place in India for LGBTQ people.

2) Pune

This city also welcomes these unconventional people with open arms. The culture of this city is quite similar to the previous one. Here also, people witnessed a lot of events in support of LGBTQ persons. It can be the alternative option for queer people to live in and enjoy life to the fullest.

3) Kolkata

The city of joy doesn't abandon or disown its LGBTQ children. This city is very much vocal about LGBTQ rights. Day by day, the discrimination line is getting thinner, and hopefully, the same will disappear in no time. Even though there is a lack of job opportunities, one LGBTQ person can live peacefully with a certain income. Here most of the new generation people accept the community, also we can find some older people with the same mentality.

4)Mumbai

The life of the LGBTQ community in the city of dreams is far better than its other counterparts. In Mumbai, many people migrate daily to try out their luck; similarly, many LGBTQ people migrate to Mumbai to lead a peaceful life away from family tantrums. In Mumbai, a lot of well-known LGBTQ social activists live very openly about their orientation. If an LGBTQ  person stays here, then for sure like-minded people can be found around.

5) Goa

Goa is well known worldwide for its partying atmosphere. People, over there are really of easy-to-go mentality. Therefore, Goa also can be a good city to live in for an LGBTQ person.

Lastly, no one should forget that LGBTQ people are also human beings. Everyone should be treated equally irrespective of gender, caste, race, orientation, and other factors. Noone should be cornered or discriminated against just because of their orientation. As things are getting better day by day for the LGBTQ community, shortly, in other Indian cities and this community, people will stay safe and live their lives.
