1.Mitchell Starc (Rs 24.75 crore): On the strength of his performances in the ICC Men's ODI World Cup 2023, the Australian speedster was signed by Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) for an exorbitant price of Rs 24.75 crore. Starc last played in the Indian Premier tournament (IPL) in 2016, but he has 34 wickets in 27 games in the franchise T20 tournament. To get this agreement, KKR had to beat out opposition from the Delhi Capitals (DC), Gujarat Titans (GT), and Mumbai Indians (MI), among others.
2.Pat Cummins - 20.50 crore: The Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) signed the World Cup-winning captain for the aforementioned price, making him the second-most expensive player in IPL history. Cummins skipped the IPL last season to focus on his international cricket obligations, and that decision paid off as the bowler led Australia to World Test Championship (WTC) and ODI World Cup victories. Will Cummins take over as SRH captain from Aiden Markram? The only way to know is to wait and see.
3. Daryl Mitchell - Rs 14 crore: In the recently ended World Cup, the Kiwi batter played the role of the typical No. 4, hitting 552 runs at an average of 69 and recording hundreds in both matches against India. His excellent performances in the middle order piqued the interest of CSK management, who paid a high price for the talented right-hander.
4.Harshal Patel - Rs 11.75 crore: The medium pacer was released by the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), but the Punjab Kings (PBKS) put their faith in him by investing Rs 11.75 crore for the Haryana player. Harshal Patel was the purple cap holder in IPL 2021 and boasts a diverse set of variations that may be useful in the large borders of Mohali.
5. Alzarri Joseph - Rs 11.5 crore: Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) signed the Caribbean pacer to improve their bowling after releasing Josh Hazlewood. Joseph formerly played for the Gujarat Titans (GT) and has 20 wickets in 19 league games at an economy rate of 9.19.
