1. Shadow of the Colossus Gorgeous scenery, detailed graphics, and a totally immersive open world.
Shadow of the Colossus is one of the most intense and heart-stopping games I have ever played, and to be honest; I don't even know how it hasn't got more recognition from the gaming industry.
2. Grand Theft Auto V There aren't many open-world games out there, but Grand Theft Auto V is definitely up there with the best.
We're not even sure there are any current active players left in GTA V, and if you've played this game, you know why. This game was published by Rockstar Games and developed by Rockstar North. 4
3. Skyrim
Skyrim From the first moment you boot up the game, you will find yourself at the Old Shire Inn. Standing in front of a roaring fire is the innkeeper, Cosmo.
Tomb Raider The second you step off of the airship, Lara Croft will have you running through the temples and caverns of Egypt. Surrounded by jagged cliffs, daunting caves, and skeletons, you're never safe from the island. Should you decide to do the opposite, you might find yourself running as fast as you can from the dragon barreling down on your village.
If you'd like to have a good time with someone, you can either have one of you gun it or else casually look around as the other takes their time and steps away from the window to solve the puzzle.
4. Fallout 4
The most well-known of the lot, Fallout 4, is an open-world roleplaying game and the sequel to the hugely popular Fallout 3.
You play as a survivor named "You" in a post-apocalyptic environment, with the ability to choose your gender, build your character, and upgrade your armor to suit your preferences.
Tomb Raider is probably a long-term favorite for many of you. This game is more fun than you can handle, featuring great combat, excellent parkour, great graphics, and a great story.
It's a fairly realistic recreation of the Lara Croft franchise, which has remarkably stood the test of time.
It also has excellent cut scenes, which really helps keep you engaged. It also gets repetitive, so this is probably the best game played on hard.
5. Witcher 3
Warhorse Studios The Witcher 3 is a superlative open-world game, and it certainly is easy to see.
If you're looking to get lost for an extended period, you won't be disappointed. The locations, quests, and enemies are designed so that you can easily progress on your own.
