1. ENGLAND VS AUSTRALIA (EDGBASTON 2005)

Phenomenal of a test match

The match was a phenomenal test cricket. The greatest and the closest Ashes match ever played. Chasing the target of 282 runs, Australia was down to 175 for 8 when Brett lee joined Shane Warne, who put up an astonishing partnership of 45 runs for the ninth wicket and then for the last wicket, lee and Kasprowicz put up a fighting chase, and as the required runs were 62 and when they almost chased it down with just 2 runs needed on board Kasprowicz was caught behind. The match ended with the entire stadium stunned.

2. WEST INDIES VS AUSTRALIA (ADELAIDE 1993)

West Indies beats Australia by 1 run

In one of the greatest test matches ever played in the '90s, Aus chasing down the target of 186 and almost down and out when they lost their 8th wicket for just 102 on board. and then came a wonderfull 9th wicket partnership of 42 runs between May and Langer, and then when they were 9 down, the scorebored still showed 42 runs needed. But then May and McDermott put a blistering 40 runs partnership for the last wicket before getting out.

In 2001 at Kolkata, the Cricketing world saw a fantastic recovery to go on to win the match even after follow on. The masterclass of Laxman and Dravid sealed the match for India. Australia put up a mammoth total of 445; in reply, India was bundled out for just 171. What followed was nothing less than supremacy. India following on put up a huge total of 657 onboard and in reply chasing down 384, Australia were dismissed for 212 and India won by 171 runs. 

4. SOUTH AFRICA VS ENGLAND (DURBAN 1948)

Chasing down a target of 128 in 28 overs, England was down to 126 for 8 with 3 balls left. Anything could have happened in this match. And then, with 1 ball left, they had to run down for life to win the match. Cliff and Bedser decided to take a run at any circumstance when the last ball is bowled. all the fielders were made to rush in, and Cliff missed the last ball; and the ball hit his thighs and bounced close to him, and they took off for a quick single. Before the fielder could pick up the ball, they changed ends, and the match was won.

After a long fightback of holding the match for 122 balls for the last wicket, the penultimate delivery of the match was the decider. Ali and Anderson almost withstood a defeat, and the game had other plans. All these efforts came to an end when they were bowled out with 1 ball left.
