Antivirus software is the most effective and user-friendly way to protect your computer. As well as your data and privacy against malware. Many of today's most popular operating systems are equipped with built-in anti-malware tools. But these are baseline protections that won't stand up to sophisticated threats. For the most reliable anti-malware protection, you need a top-notch antivirus suite. Although the top of the line software often comes at a cost. Sometimes the free version is all you need; that's why I am sharing with you about the best antivirus software available.
1. Avira Antivirus :

Avira has a great anti-malware setup that can detect all the malicious files on your pc.
It does so without slowing your pc down, which I'm talking about in the full scan mode. Apart from that, you also get enhanced internet security with better privacy protection. You can download it from their official website.
2. Bitdefender :

Bit defender is a Paid Antivirus, but thankfully, it also offers a free plan that works well for many of you. Bitdefender is designed to run in the background, and only important notifications will pop up. When something goes wrong, everything else, such as malware scans detection and removal, all happen automatically unless you decide to adjust the settings. The nice part here is that the software is relatively lightweight.
Also, even though everything happens behind the curtain, it does not slow your pc.

Layers of your computing system often catching things other software don't. Its light by design scans and works effectively on older and weaker machines; due to its lower startup impact. The ios version is entirely bare-bones, only protecting against malicious URLs. But it's an excellent option on all other devices and operating systems.
However, you won't find any real-time protection, firewall protection, VPNs, or password managers that come for free.
4. Panda Security Antivirus :

Panda free antivirus for windows takes 4th place, offering not only a unique and style interface but one of the most capable and feature-packed suites of any antivirus software. For windows users, real-time protection
is acceptable. But mac and ios users will have to pay as no free options are available to them. For android users, various features weigh real-time scanning for internal storage and sd cards but most impressively, the privacy auditor, which monitors what apps have what access, helping you remove anything that shouldn't be linked up beyond the headline features it also provides a limited but free VPN and excellent protection against malware.
5. Sophos Home:

Last but not least is a great free option. Thanks to its ability that it allows you to manage three devices remotely from a single console.
Its free version only provides malware and essential protection, so ransomware security and advanced web security are unfortunately locked behind a paid subscription. Sophos's free plan focuses mainly on malware protection and preventing access to suspicious URLs.
It also offers excellent parental controls to customize available content, which you can control remotely too. However, it's a pretty essential free antivirus software and lacks customization and strict internet security. It remains a strong option for families looking for additional security, child protection, and remote management.
