Today I will share with you the top 5 iOS 13 features. So far, opinions change over time, and after using this for a little while, I wanted to share the top 5 features.
1 Dark mode
I didn't think I would say the first one, but it is dark mode, and I don't typically like dark mode all the time, and that's one of the features I discovered after using it for a while. It has an automatic setting, so during the day, it's on light mode, and then at night, after sunset, it flips to the dark mode, which is really helpful when it's dark outside or just dark in a room, and you want to read. I really enjoy this feature, so I'll leave it on automatic all the time; so that is definitely something that I'm glad they added, and it's a true dark mode where the background is black, which helps save battery.
2 Apple Maps
Apple Maps has been hit-or-miss depending on where you live, but now it's getting better. So I do use Google Maps a lot. Still, now Apple Maps is getting quite good, so if we go into Apple Maps, you'll see how we're in Cupertino; that's where Apple is, and this is where the most information is now San Francisco Cupertino. It will be added throughout the rest of the year for the rest of the United States. Hence, if we zoom in, we have more information about the surrounding areas and businesses. If we go up here, we have a look around, so we've got a lot of information from Wikipedia, and now we have a look around, and this is like Street View, but it's a little better. It's a lot smoother, so if I move around like this and if I want to go down this road here, you'll see it's nice and smooth as it goes down the road instead of being kind of jittery as it goes through, it's really nice and smooth, so maybe I want to go back and if you want to try this out. You're on one of the early versions of iOS 13, go ahead and try it out. It's really nice. It also has a trip planner built in it that suggests its own favorites, and it's just a really nice updated version of maps that I definitely am glad they've changed, so I'll be using that much more often. When iOS 13, Apple added security enhancements to Safari, and the home can also add a new Apple sign-in.
3 Voice Control
My third favorite feature is voice control, and voice control allows you to control your entire phone using your voice. It looks like because they have really improved voice dictation, it's hit or miss. Still, it seems to be better than it used to be, so let's go into settings. We'll go down to accessibility, then go to voice control. We'll turn it on, and voice control will control their phone or iPad using just their voice or their Mac. You'll see it's activated so now I can say things like open settings, go home, open music and you can continue to use this to open different features type copy/paste, and you've got everything you can do with your finger you can do just with your voice. Hence, it's a beneficial feature and it seems to work really well.
4 Quick path
There is a new feature called quick path, and this is basically a swipe feature on the keyboard, but this is secure, so you're not sharing your information with other companies; you can use quick path. It's faster than our normal typing speed. It's getting better and better as the updates keep coming, but a quick path is a beneficial feature that's secure.
5 Face ID
The last feature that probably gets overlooked the most is performance. There is not only faster face ID on devices that support it, but there are also up to 50% faster app launch times, and this is including all of these supported devices all the way back to the 6s plus iPhone SE. All the supported devices should open and load different apps up to 50% faster because they're not only smaller, but there's performance optimization throughout iOS 13.
