Top 5 DIY Hair Masks

Whether it's damage, dryness, flakes, or frizzes, we all experience hair problems. Changes in the seasons, internal heat, external factors, and hot hair tools are factors that can cause these changes. Fortunately, you do not have to hit the store or add another beauty product to your Amazon cart: You can head straight to your daily ingredients kit that you can apply with a hair mask to fix your hair.

Below, we have compiled the five best hair masks for all your major hair problems, from irritated skin, hair loss to bruising and dryness.

Honey, egg, and apple cider vinegar mask

Problem: Dry hair. If your hair feels (and looks) slightly dry, try this mask of honey, egg, and apple cider vinegar (ACV). It's an excellent treatment that provides light and nourishment without measuring the fibers, says Stephanie Brown, a color specialist at IGK Salon in New York City.

Ingredients: 1 teaspoon honey, one egg, one teaspoon ACV.

Guidelines: Mix in a small bowl. You can double or half the recipe, depending on the length of your hair. Leave it for 30 to 40 minutes before bathing. This nutritional treatment applies to all hair types.

Honey, ACV, and coconut oil mask

Problem: Dullness. Keeping your hair soft and healthy makes your hair look better, Brown says. When the fibers lose their luster, use an apple cider vinegar mask to enhance the gloss.

Ingredients: Equal parts of raw organic honey and apple cider vinegar, and coconut oil.

Guidelines: Apply to wet hair and leave for at least 20 minutes, then wash away. It is excellent for all hair types and helps lock in color as well.

Cinnamon and Coconut oil mask

Problem: Hair that will not grow. Try a cinnamon-based mask - an antiseptic spice is known to promote blood circulation and hair growth and strength, says Liana Zingarino, a hairdresser at Serge Normant at John Frieda Salon in New York City.

Ingredients: Equal parts cinnamon and coconut oil.

Guidelines: Mix the ingredients well. Apply the mask on your face and forehead, and then rub your skin. Let it sit for 30 to 45 minutes, and then wash. Plan to make this mask at least once a week.

Green tea and Apple Cider Vinegar Wash

Problem: Light skin. While green tea has a cleansing list for health benefits, you can add leather to the listing bag, says Sadah Saltzman, a hairdresser at Salon AKS in New York City. Thanks to its antioxidants and nutrients, this powerful ingredient soothes and rejuvenates glowing skin. Peppermint oil is a perfect complement; it has anti-inflammatory properties and helps to reduce dryness and dry skin.

Ingredients: 1 cup of green tea, two drops of peppermint oil, one teaspoon of apple cider vinegar.

Guidelines: Mix well, rub on scalp and sit for at least five minutes before bathing.

Egg White and Lemon Mask

Problem: Grease. If you are accustomed to having oily hair, an egg mask can do wonders, says Saltzman. Stick to just white people who have protein enzymes that help remove excess fat.

Ingredients: 1 egg white, juice from half a lemon.

Guidelines: Smooth over hair from roots to edges and leave for 30 minutes to an hour - the longer it is better. Wash with warm water, not hot.
