changes coming into effect from August 1

The top 5 changes coming into effect from August 1 will impact salary, EMI payments.

The adjustments, which take effect on Sunday, result from Reserve Bank of India (RBI) rule modifications and regular bank updates.

The month of August will see several banking rule changes that will influence account holders' day-to-day activities. While individuals who pay the equated monthly installments (EMIs) and receive wages will gain, account holders who often use ATM cards may feel the squeeze.

Here are some of the changes that will go into effect on August 1:

1. NACH will be offered every day:

The National Automated Clearing House (NACH) is a large-scale payment system that banks use to transfer salaries, pensions, dividends, and interest, among other things. It permits payments for energy, gas, telephone, and water and periodic installments on loans, mutual fund investments, and insurance premiums.

The National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) created the NACH, which is only available on bank working days. IN JUNE, the RBI said that beginning August 1, the bulk payment method would be available on all days. This, according to RBI Governor Shaktikanta Das, is being done to take advantage of the real-time gross settlement system's availability 24 hours a day, seven days a week (RTGS). NACH is also used to send a large number of beneficiaries a direct benefit transfer (DBT).

2. Fees for processing payments will be raised:

The RBI announced this once more in June. The increase means that financial and non-financial transactions at Automated Teller Machines (ATMs) would become more expensive. The Reserve Bank of India has allowed banks to raise interchange fees from $15 to $17. This fee will be raised from $5 to $6 for non-financial transactions.

The fee paid by the bank that issues the card to the bank where it is used to withdraw cash is known as ATM interchange. According to the RBI, the costs have been raised after nine years due to the rising cost of ATM rollout and bank maintenance charges. According to the company, the interchange fee structure for ATM transactions was last changed in August 2012, while customer costs were last amended in August 2014.

3. Revisions to India Post's charges are set to take effect:

To use the doorstep services, those with an account with the India Post Payments Bank (IPPB) will have to pay a higher fee. Currently, the bank does not charge for these services, but from August 1, it will levy a fee of $20 (plus GST) for each request. According to India Post, there would be no limit on the number of transactions when an IPPB representative visits a customer's home for doorstep service.

However, it has been stressed that the 'no charge' clause will only apply to serving multiple requests from a single consumer. If many persons desire to use the IPPB's doorstep service, it will be treated as a separate DSB delivery and will be charged.

4. Charges at ICICI Bank will be revised:

ICICI Bank, India's largest private bank, has announced that the limitations on cash transactions, ATM interchange, and checkbook costs for its domestic savings account holders will be revised. According to the ICICI Bank website, these modifications will take effect on August 1.

The revised rates will apply to all cash transactions, including deposits and withdrawals. According to the bank's website, customers having a regular savings account with the bank are entitled to four free transactions. According to ICICI, anyone who exceeds the free restrictions would be charged $150 per transaction.

5. Price changes for LPG cylinders:

On the first day of each month, the price of a Liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) cylinder is reviewed. And the drill is set to take place on August 1st. The prices are determined by the current crude oil price on the international market.

A change in RBI rules and frequent bank reports led to Sunday's adjustment. Many changes to banking rules are coming in August, and they'll impact account holders' daily lives. However, account holders who frequently use ATM cards may feel the pinch.
