Top 5 bowling figures by indian in a match at lord's ground

5. ISHANT SHARMA

   7/135 IN 2014

Ishant Sharma took a seven-wicket haul during 2014 to guide India to a historic Test victory over England at Lord's. With England needing 319 in their final innings to claim victory, Sharma was in superb form, bowling short but effective balls to suit the fieldset by captain MS Dhoni.

4. VENKATESH PRASAD

     7/130 IN 1996

The match is remembered for several things: Sourav Ganguly’s debut ton, Rahul Dravid’s equally impressive 95, and Dickie Bird’s last match as an umpire, among others. However, few remember a young Indian pacer getting his name embossed on the honourary Lord’s boards, claiming five wickets in the first innings.

After Srinath and Ganguly had dented the top order, Venkatesh Prasad came in and swooped the lower half of the batting line-up, ending with figures of 5-76. He took a further two wickets in the next innings, but the match ended in a draw.

3. RP SINGH

    7/117 IN 2007

India started their England tour of 2007 with Lord's hosting the first Test of the series. England batted first and made 298 thanks to 96 from Andrew Strauss and 79 from Captain Michael Vaughan. India replied with a modest 201, with sole fifty coming from Wasim Jaffer. England had a 97 run lead and was looking to make a big score and take India away. But thanks to Zaheer Khan's 4/79 and RP Singh's majestic 5/59 in the second innings, England could manage 282 runs on the board.  RP Singh got his name on the Lord's honor board, a feat not many Indians can boast of.

2. KAPIL DEV

    8/168 IN 1982

Before Siraj demolishes Kapil dev's record, he has the record for the best bowling figures by an Indian at lord's ground. Kapil Dev made the legendary Honours Boards when he took five wickets during India's defeat to England at Lord's in 1982. Having won the toss and deciding to bat, England were soon 94-4, with Dev ripping through the hosts' opening batsmen by taking all four wickets. Kapil dev is one of the greatest Indian players of all time. Even though he was the greatest, his record in lord's has come to an end. Now MOHAMMED SIRAJ has overcome his record on 16-08-2021 and created a new record in lord's ground.
