5. Playa Paraíso, Cayo Largo del Sur
In a country renowned for its beautiful beaches, Paradise Beach on Cayo Largo del Sur is one of the best in Cuba. This beautiful beach of fine white sand and azure waters surrounds the secluded western end of the island and blends in with the equally charming Playa Sirena. Cayo Largo del Sur is a sun-hungry destination with a generally dry and sunny climate and few tourist attractions besides Cuba's most beautiful beaches, many hotels, and resorts.
4. Guardalavaca
Surrounded by the sparkling beaches of Guardalavaca in Holguín province, it is quieter and more remote from Varadero. Lush greenery surrounds the expansive beach and provides ample shade for those seeking a break from the tropical sun. Divers and snorkelers can explore the rich marine life on the coral reef. Day trips from Guardalavaca include jungle adventures, sailing excursions, and sightseeing tours of Santiago de Cuba. Including Cayo Orange, home to the popular dolphin aquarium to get up close and personal with these tiny creatures. Choro de Maita is another option for bypassing Guardalavaki, home to the local Indian cemetery and the recreated Indian village of Taino.
3. Trinidad
Exploring the Cuban city of Trinidad, a UNESCO World Heritage Site feels like a step back in time. Beautifully restored buildings and cobbled streets in the city center give it an old colonial look. Much of its architecture dated from the 17th and 19th centuries when Trinidad flourished in the sugar trade and slave traders. Today Trinidad is one of the best cities in Cuba to visit Havana. Enjoy the lively atmosphere of the city's central square, the cobbled Plaza Mayor. The neoclassical church of the Holy Trinity (Iglesia Parroquial de la Santisima Trinidad) is located above the square. Another attraction of Trinidad is the Basilica and Monastery of St. Peter. Francis (Iglesia y Convento de San Francisco) with its characteristic bell tower; Museum of Colonial Architecture (Museo de Arquitectura Colonial); Art Gallery at Casa de Aldeman Ortiz; Palacio Brunet, a stately house built in 1812, which still retains its original frescoes and marble floors.
2. Varadero
Varadero is one of Cuba's most popular beach destinations and one of the best beaches in the Caribbean. It flows along the Hycacos Peninsula and flows from the northern coast to the sea. A suspension bridge connects it to the mainland. This popular line of palm trees and beautiful white sand beaches with over 50 hotels attract visitors worldwide. The main attractions of Varadero include the Varajicakos Ecological Park (Varadero Ecological Park) and the two caves Cueva de Ambrosio and Cueva de Musulmanes. Besides diving and snorkeling, other popular activities include deep-sea fishing, golf, skydiving, and cultural day trips.
1. Old Havana (Habana Vieja)
A UNESCO World Heritage Site, Havana Vieja or Old Havana is a well-preserved piece of Cuban history. Walking through the cobbled streets and exploring the majestic Baroque and neoclassical buildings, it's easy to imagine what life was like in Cuba 200 years ago. As a result of large-scale renovations, the historic building came to life. The main attraction here is the Plaza de la San Cristobal, home to the Cuban Baroque cathedral. Hemingway's Legendary Restaurant and Territory, Bodegita del Medio, and the military fortress of Castillo de la Real Fuerza. Also, in the Old Town, Plaza Vieja is one of the best places in Havana. This lively location is home to several famous buildings, including the 18th century Casa del Conde Jaruco, with beautiful stained glass windows on the ground floor. The nearby camera obscura offers fantastic views from the 35-meter tower. Weather permitting, spend at least a day exploring the Old Town and more.
