01. I have some serious family issues. My dad and I always fight for silly issues, and sometimes it gets severe. Though there are mistakes on both sides, my dad thinks he is always right, and I am the one who says sorry. He is not aware that I am the one who is much affected by suck quarrels. Would you please give me a solution?

 

Ans. I am not sure how old you are, but I guess you are in your early or late teens. You are at an age when you have your own views and opinions. Your feelings and concerns are very genuine. From what you have expressed, it appears as if your father is authoritative and cannot understand your feelings. Many parents fail to understand that when children grow, they have their own ideas and must have the freedom to express them. They need not always be right, but parents have to analyze and guide children when wrong. All parents think about what is good for their children.

02. I am a class X student. I am not in a position to learn and revise lessons easily. My examinations are nearing. What do I do?

Ans. As you come to higher classes, it is essential to follow a studly pattern to help you plan your studies; only if you learn properly can you revise easily. Also, when you can get tensed and anxious, you will not be able to study properly. Each learner has a style of learning. Identify your learning style: Visual learner (Learning through seeing), auditory learner (through hearing). It is always best to study the way you can grasp things faster and better. Plan your daily schedule to learn and revise. Never procrastinate. When you postpone, you create anxiety. This will affect the quality of your work. Prioritize your work to avoid confusion and disappointment. Set realistic goals to do your best. Appreciate yourself when you do well. Hard work and determination will lead you to success.

 

03. I am a class VII student. As suggested by you, I made a timetable to follow up on my studies. But for me, it's a difficult task. My parents and other elders ask me to do some errands for them all the time, even if I tell them I am managing my time with a timetable. So, can you please suggest some other way of managing time?

 

Ans. Happy to know you tried to follow some strategies suggested. When you are not able to follow and are interrupted by others, you will get upset. Hope your keep your parents updated about your schedule. Discuss your schedule with them, and find time to help them too. You can always get inputs from them so that you do not get irritated when they interrupt you. Of course, such plans are only guidelines to complete work. There might be instances when you cannot follow them. Accept it and get back to work as much as possible withougt losing your cool. When you have alternative plans, you will not get disappointed. All your plans should have time for study. Play and relaxation as well.

 

04. I am a student of class VIII. I have so far resided and studied in three different cities, and rarely have I spent my time going out or playing with my friends. My mind is fixed on the work that needs to be completed, but I still try to save time and catch up with friends. I could be moving out of town.

 

Ans. Making good grinds is essential as you are growing up. I do understand that it becomes difficult to have close friends when you are frequently moving. Good that you are making efforts to make friends in spite o this. Of course, you have to develop the skill to bond with people Look at things more positively. You will have a wide range o friend, and you can be connected with them even when you move from a place. Make use of technology to stay connected with good friends. You have the quality to help people, and this nature of your will help you be with good friends. Everyone does not get whatever they want, but the clever ones will make the best use o the opportunity they get. Goodwill shall always be recognized.
