3.Freelancer
Freelancer is such a website that you seek a freelancing job, and the employer will be hiring you based on your bid and bid description. Freelancer allows you to seek jobs according to your preferences.
Advantage:
- Freelancer allows you to seek jobs rather than the employer seek you.
- You bid according to your preference within the given rate of the employer.
- You choose your total time of working in a week.
- Freelancer notifies you to add a new skill whenever you apply for a job with a different skill other than the skills in your profile.
- You can see others' bids on the job you are applying for and adjust your bid description referring to others' bids.
Disadvantages:
- Freelancer has a high level of competition and some times the percentage of getting a job for a beginner is meager.
- Freelancer gives you just 6 bids at a time so that you can bid only for a maximum of six jobs.
- If you buy their pro subscription, you will get very high benefits than the normal ones. This will make a very high difference between the normal and the pro.
- Freelancer does not have stages according to your working experience or working power. This makes it very tough for a beginner to understand their capabilities.
2.Fiverr
Fiverr is such a unique website that you are asked to show your work in a special gig, and the employer will view your gig and hire you. Fiverr is a good platform with a great number of traffic.
Advantages:
- Fiverr asks you many details compares to other websites before you create a gig. This allows your employer to understand you clearly.
- When you create a new account, Fiverr shows a tutorial for beginners on every page.
- Fiverr gives you different levels according to your experience in Fiverr. This allows a freelancer to understand his capabilities clearly.
- After creating a Fiverr gig, you need not seek the job. The job will seek you.
Disadvantages:
- Fiverr asks many details about you when you create a good new account, but it has a fixed percentage of completion of your details that is 65. This will be a little bit tough task for a school student or a beginner in freelancing.
- Fiverr does not allow you to seek a job and apply. Just doing gigs and waiting will be a tough job for beginners, so that they will not get jobs for a long time.
- Fiverr concentrates on SEO. The beginners who are not SEO friendly will have a tough time in Fiverr. So Fiverr is not recommended for someone who doesn't know SEO.
1.Upwork
Upwork is at the top of my preference. Upwork is a platform that has good traffic. It is similar to Freelancer, but it is better than Freelancer for a beginner. It is beginner-friendly.
Advantages:
- Just like Freelancer, Upwork also allows you to seek jobs according to your preference.
- You can bid according to your need.
- You can set the time of working with the employer.
- You can search for jobs according to your reference only.
- If you are a multi-tasking person, you can create a separate profile for your separate skills.
- You can set your level according to your preference.
Disadvantages:
- You cannot check others' bids and set your bid according to the competition.
- You cannot use common certificates which you get by making some online courses.
- You cannot make changes through the app; instead, you have to go to their website.
These are my top 3 preferences.
My tips for freelancing on these websites:
- If you are a beginner, don't hesitate to start. Every successful man has to start his career.
- I you do not get jobs, be patient and learn what you are lacking
- Always keep your profile up to date, do not keep your profile like an essay. Keep it like a professional.
- Always try to learn more in your career. Don't think that you are superior.
- Always interact with others politely.
- Don't make fake promises. Do your work in a given time.
- Don't put skills that you don't know in your profile. This may lead you to the loss of your freelancing account.
At last, these are the things which I wanted to discuss. Please don't forget to review and comment.
