2. Raksha Bandhan

3. Krishna Janmashtami

According to Hindu texts, lord Krishna was born on this day. He was the eighth avatar (incarnation) of Lord Vishnu on the earth. It is celebrated on the eighth day of the Bhadrava. It is also called Gokulashtami.

As soon as it is 12:00 am, the Dahi Handi (an earthen pot in which curd is filled) is broken. To break that handi, people make a human pyramid and break the earthen pot filled with curd tied at a difficult height; then, Prasad and Charna Amrit are distributed to everyone.
