TOP 20 HIGHLY TOXIC FOODS THAT CAN BE HARMFUL TO YOUR DOG
Being companions, we always wish to share our food with our canine friends, such as whenever we cook chicken, our dog shows its desire to take some of it. Offering human foods to dogs is good up to some extent, but there are some exceptions. Here is a list of the top 20 poisonous things which you should never give to your dog. These substances can make your canine friend sick or even prove fatal for it.
1) Chocolate

It contains theobromine and caffeine that can raise the heart rate of your dog and result in the production of extra amounts of urine, which can lead to dehydration.
2) Garlic and Onions

Whether a dog consumes garlic and onion in one big dose or several small doses, these foods contain disulfides and thiosulfates that can disturb your dog’s GIT or even start breaking down their red blood cells, leading to hemolytic anemia.
3) Grapes and Raisins

Tartaric acid in grapes and raisins is known to harm a dog's digestive and renal systems. Initially, gastrointestinal problems occur, like vomiting. Later on, uremia (toxins in the blood) occurs.
4) Beverages
Alcohol poisoning can result in metabolic acidosis, subnormal body temperature and depression of the central nervous system of your lovely pet. Alcoholic beverages have the potential to result in your dog’s death, coma, and intoxication.
5) Caffeine
It is severely hazardous for your pet, whether its source is coffee, tea or anything else. It causes seizures and ataxia. Sometimes, cardiac arrhythmias and an increase in blood pressure occur. It can also disturb the normal functioning of your dog’s GIT.
6) Fruit pits and Seeds
Most of them have cyanide, which is a poison for your lovely dog. It can lead to suffocation and death.
7) Avocados

Dogs cannot eat any part of an avocado.
8) Macadamia nuts
These nuts contain an unidentified toxin that can paralyze dogs and harm their nervous systems.
9) Potato and Tomato
Potato peelings, rhubarb, and tomato leaves all contain oxalate, which can disrupt the neurological, endocrine, and genitourinary systems.

Consuming raw fish might result in a thiamine deficit, which can lead to appetite loss, seizures, and even death.

When consumed in significant quantities, these components can result in an electrolyte imbalance that could cause congestive heart failure or muscular spasms.
17) Mushrooms

Eating mushrooms may make your pet ill. They may contain toxins that harm the liver and kidneys.
18) Human Vitamin supplements
Human vitamin supplements, especially those containing iron, can harm the lining of the digestive tract. Moreover, they can result in liver and renal damage.
19) Nutmeg

Consuming nutmeg can result in tremors, seizures, and harm to the neurological system of your dog.
20) Sugar-Free Products
Artificial sweeteners containing sugar-free products have been linked to liver failure in some canines.
