IMDB has recently released its year-end list of top 10 web series, and it's been a remarkable year for the Indian Entertainment industry. Many big stars, including Kajol and Naga Chaitanya, made their debut in web series this year. Interestingly, crime emerged as the most popular genre, with nine of this year's series making it to the top 10 list. Creator duo Raj & DK impressed the audience with two outstanding works of art: Guns & Gulaabs, starring Rajkummar Rao, and Farzi, starring Shahid Kapoor.
Bhuvan Arora and Angira Dhar, two prominent OTT stars, have been identified as the "breakout stars" on IMDb's Starmeter. Additionally, both their web series have secured a place in the top 10 list. Despite not having a theatrical release, Shahid Kapoor has established himself as a dominant force in the world of OTT entertainment.

The web series "Farzi" is a black comedy that features Shahid Kapoor as a disillusioned artist and Vijay Sethupathi as a Special Task Force Officer. 3. The Night Manager
Night Manager is a web series that gained attention when Hrithik Roshan left the project and Aditya Roy Kapur took over his role. It is an official adaptation of the Hollywood series featuring Tom Hiddleston and Hugh Laurie. The Indian version stars Anil Kapoor alongside ARK and is created by Sandeep Modi. The show can be streamed on Disney+ Hotstar in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, Marathi, and Bengali languages.
4. Kohrra
Kohrra" is a cop thriller web series produced by Karrnesh Sharma's Clean Slate Films and is available for streaming on Netflix. Originally in Punjabi, the show features an excellent star cast and storyline. The plot revolves around the investigation of the death of an NRI bridegroom just days before his wedding. Two cops must solve the case while dealing with turmoil in their own lives. The series features popular actors such as Barun Sobti, Suvinder Vicky, Harleen Sethi, Varun Badola, and others.
5. Asur 2
Asur 2 is a web series produced by Bombay Fables, featuring actors such as Arshad Warsi, Barun Sobti, Riddhi Dogra, and others. The first season of the show was aired on Voot, and now the second season is streaming on Jio Cinema. Asur 2 is available in various languages such as Hindi, Bangla, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, Marathi, and Bhojpuri, with English subtitles.
6. Rana Naidu
"Rana Naidu" is personally my favourite web series.The web series features Surveen Chawla and Rana Daggubati and is available for streaming on Netflix in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, and Malayalam. The official synopsis of the show states that Rana Naidu is a problem solver for the rich and famous. However, when his father is released from jail, he finds himself unable to handle the mess that arises.
7. Dahaad
The web series "Dahaad" is a thrilling crime drama about a female police officer, played by Sonakshi Sinha, who is trying to solve a disturbing mystery of women being found dead in public toilets. The series is produced by Zoya Akhtar and Reema Kagti’s Tiger Baby Productions and is available for streaming on Amazon Prime Video in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam languages.
8. Saas, Bahu Aur Flamingo
The series is produced by Dinesh Vijan and features an ensemble cast including Dimple Kapadia, Radhika Madan, Isha Talwar, Angira Dhar, Deepak Dobriyal, Monica Dogra, and Naseeruddin Shah. It is a crime drama revolving around a group of women who run a profitable drug cartel business. The series is available for streaming on Hotstar.

In the web series "Scoop", which is now streaming on Sony Liv, Karishma Tanna portrayed a character named Jigna Vora who was a journalist. Later, in Bigg Boss 17, the real journalist Jigna Vora was introduced to the world.
