Sachin Tendulkar was an Indian former International cricketer born in 1973 and made his international cricket debut at sixteen years of age in 1989 in Karachi, Pakistan. 

In 2002, halfway through his career, Wisden Cricketers Almanack ranked him second greatest Test Batsman of all time and second greatest ODI batsman of all time. Sachin Tendulkar received Arjuna Award in 1994, Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna Award in 1997, Padma Shri award in 1999, and Padma Vibhushan Award in 2008.

He received Bharat Ratna, the highest civilian award of the Republic of India, in 2014. He is the youngest recipient to date and the first ever sportsperson to receive the award.

Sachin was part of the Indian team that won the World Cup in 2011. He retired from all forms of cricket in November 2013 after playing his last test match against West Indies at his home ground Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai.

Sachin Tendulkar played a total of 663 cricket matches (excluding one T20I match) throughout his career. He played 200 test matches and 463 ODI matches during his career as a cricketer.
