1) Get enough sleep
Get enough sleep! Studies show that adults need anywhere from 6 to 9 hours of sleep per night. Make sure you're getting enough sleep by going to bed at a reasonable time and turning off all screens an hour before bed.
2) Eat healthy foods
Eating healthy is a huge part of living a healthy lifestyle. It's important to know what foods are good for you and which foods are not. Plus, if you're eating healthier, you'll also be setting an example for your family and friends.
3) Exercise regularly
One of the best ways to maintain a healthy lifestyle is to exercise regularly. It not only boosts mood and relieves stress, it also helps keep your weight in check. Aim for 20 minutes of aerobic activity three times a week, with strength training twice a week. If you can't break away from work, try one-minute bursts of activity spread throughout the day. And remember that any type of movement counts toward your goal!
4) Drink plenty of water
Drink plenty of water! It's a no-brainer, right? But it can be hard to remember when you're busy and forgetful. Try setting reminders on your phone or computer to drink water throughout the day, and try tracking how many glasses of water you drink each day with a journal or app like Daily Water.
5) Avoid unhealthy habits
1. Avoid unhealthy habits (e.g., smoking, drugs, alcohol)
2. Get enough sleep every night to feel energized and refreshed the next day. And try to sleep and wake at the same time each day.
6) Take care of your mental health
For many people, mental health is as important as physical health. If you are not in a good mental place, it can be difficult to make sound decisions about your work, relationships and life in general. It's time to take care of yourself and your mental health.
7) Connect with nature
Nature is a great way to connect with yourself and get some much-needed relaxation. Nature can also provide some healthy benefits, including the following:
8) Spend time with loved ones
Spend time with loved ones. Even if you are shy, make an effort to spend some time with your family and friends. In the words of Maya Angelou, I've learned that no matter what happens, or how bad it seems today, life does go on, and it will be better tomorrow. Whether it's joining them for dinner or grabbing coffee, take the time to talk about life and get involved in their lives. They might not always be there tomorrow!
9) Live in the present
Live in the present. There is no point in dwelling on the past or worrying about what might happen in the future. It's all a waste of time and energy. Start living your life to the fullest while you can and make every moment count!
Live by your values. One way to live in the present is to live by your values, whether that be being true to yourself, sticking up for what you believe in, or helping others.
10) Give back to your community
Share your love of healthy living with others. There are many ways to give back to your community and make a difference. Consider teaching healthy cooking classes, volunteering at a local soup kitchen, or mentoring young children on how to live a healthy lifestyle. You can even take your family to the park on the weekends instead of watching TV!
3. Exercise regularly - this can be as little as 30 minutes a day of brisk walking or light strength training two to three times a week.
