1. Use your left hand to eat or greet.
In India, locals use their right hand to greet. People give or take things and serve each food in the right hand. The left hand is usually considered unclean, and locals find it offensive to eat the left hand for these purposes.
2.Don't wear shoes inside a temple and someone's house.
They considered homes and temples are sacred spaces in India. It is customary to remove shoes and footwear outside before entering a temple or someone's home as a sign of respect. This custom is practiced in some shops, so if you find a sign outside a shop asking to leave your Footwear outside, just oblige and do so. Another fun fact about this is that if we enter the house with shoes, it also makes their house dirty.

6.Credit Card doesn't work everywhere.
Do not be under the impression that you can spend an entire trip to India without paying cash. Of course, credit cards are widely accepted in India, but you will need cash time for your daily expenses and transportation; high-end hotels, restaurants, and taxi services will accept credit cards. But if you want to enjoy local street food, go street shopping, and rickshaw ride local busses, you will definitely have to shell out your expenses in cash.
7.proper greetings.
Indians usually won't like kissing on the cheek or big hugs as greetings. If you are meeting a stranger, the polite way to greet would be with namaste, joining your palms together in front of you and bowing slightly with a smile on your face; you can even shake hands with men but not with women as they might not be so comfortable with this gesture if you are unsure of what you need to do stick with namaste. shake hand also leads to skin infection, so they generally use "namaste."
8.Do not point your finger or touch anything with your feet.
Another etiquette rule is to never point on your finger. This is considered rude. If you must draw attention to someone or something, do so with your whole hand or thumb. Also, touching people or objects, especially books and educational instruments (Indians believes that sacred gods are living inside the books; they considered the book as a god"Saraswathi") with your feet is considered really disrespectful. If it happens inadvertently, Indians reverentially touch that object with their hands are bring to close to their eyes as an apology.
9.Dont drink or smoke in public places and don't do drugs.
Smoking and drinking alcohol in public places is prohibited throughout the country. Do it at your home or inside licensed places if you want to enjoy this smoke, drinks, and stuff. 10.Dont wear skimpy little. Clothes.
India is a mix of modern and conservative minds. Women's clothing varies from region to region. in urban cities like Goa, Delhi, or Mumbai, you can wear whatever you like. However, in small towns and cities, especially in rural India (southern states of India Karnataka, Kerala, Tamilnadu, Telangana, Andrapradesha,)dressing modesty and not revealing much skin is highly recommended. It will not only ward off unwanted stares but will also help you blend in with the locals. Make sure you throw or a scarf when visiting a religious place. Most women wear saree. And men wear dhotis and shirts because it's their traditional trademarks.
