Pakistan's army is ranked number eight with 315 thousand active personnel and a military readiness rating of 80%. In 2017, it increased its armed forces by an addition 50 thousand members with an additional $2 billion allocated for defense spending.

These assets are maintained by one of the most well-trained and disciplined forces on earth. In 2009, Germany's force numbered just over 200,000 personnel. By 2020 this number is expected to fall to around 177,000 due to cutbacks on military spending approved by parliament.

The army spends a whopping $3.3 billion USD on military training every year. South Korea's total defense budget amounts to around $32 billion USD, which means that its army accounts for nearly 20% of all government spending. That said, military conscription for men remains in place despite repeated attempts to abolish it.
