The ranking included 3228 billionaires from 2402 enterprises across 68 nations. According to the Hurun ranking, India has 177 billionaires. (This article includes a list of the top 10 wealthiest Indians and their net worth.) according to the ranking, Mukesh Ambani, Chairman of Reliance Industries, is at the top of India's Top 10 Richest Persons.

In the pandemic-plagued year 2020, the globe added 8 billionaires every week, for a total of 421 billionaires in a year. Despite the COVID-19 pandemic, the total wealth of all billionaires worldwide is estimated to be in the billions of dollars.

 

 

1. Mukesh Ambani: With a net worth of USD 83 billion, the richest man on the list is none other than a business tycoon and Asia's richest man, Mukesh Ambani. According to the Hurun Global Rich List, the CEO of Reliance Industries saw a 24 percent increase in fortunes and rose one spot to become the eighth richest person on the planet. Reliance Industries, India's largest exporter, accounting for 8% of the country's exports and 5% of the country's overall customs and excise duty earnings. According to the article, Reliance contemplates a gradual transition to renewable energy and has decided to enter the battery manufacturing market ahead of the electric vehicle boom.

2. Gautam Adani and family: This Gujarati billionaire has seen a meteoric rise in his fortunes in recent years, nearly doubling his fortune to USD 32 billion in 2020 and climbing 20 places to become the world's 48th richest person and the second wealthiest Indian. Meanwhile, his younger brother Vinod's fortune increased by 128% to USD 9.8 billion.

 

 

3. Shiv Nadar: With a fortune of USD 27 billion, IT company HCL's Shiv Nadar was the third wealthiest Indian, and his fortune had increased by USD 10 billion, thanks to a 66 percent increase in the software and services giant's share price. Nadar created HCL in the mid-1970s and evolved the IT hardware company into an IT enterprise by repeatedly redefining the company's emphasis over the next three decades. Nadar received the Padma Bhushan award in 2008 for his contributions to the IT industry.

4. Lakshmi N Mittal: With a net worth of USD 19 billion, the Indian steel magnate and CEO of ArcelorMittal in London is the fourth wealthiest Indian on the list. When Mittal built a greenfield rolling mill in Indonesia in 1976, he created ArcelorMittal. He took his first international step in 1989 with the lease and subsequent acquisition of a steel company in Trinidad and Tobago. He was an early believer in the benefits consolidation could bring to the steel industry. Following that, the company expanded into Mexico, the United States, Germany, Kazakhstan, and several eastern European countries. Mittal is well-known for his entrepreneurial and business achievements, and he has won various awards.

Cyrus Poonawalla: With an estimated net worth of USD 18.5 billion, Indian businessman and chairman of the Poonawalla Group, which includes the Pune-based Serum Institute of India, an Indian biotech company that manufactures vaccines, is also one of India's top billionaires. His business just released the Oxford AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine. Cyrus Poonawalla, the son of a horse breeder, started SII in 1966 and grew it into the world's largest vaccine manufacturer. Within two years, they had developed their first therapeutic tetanus serum and began making anti-tetanus vaccinations.

6. Hinduja Group: The four Hinduja brothers, Srichand, Gopichand, Prakash, and Ashok, who run the conglomerate Hinduja Group, have a combined estimated net worth of USD 18 billion. Uday Kotak: Indian billionaire banker and the executive vice-chairman and managing director of Kotak Mahindra Bank is also included in Hurun's India Rich List 2021 with an estimated net worth of USD 15 billion. When India was still a closed economy, Kotak decided to start on his own spurning his family's trading business. Ans, in 1985 he started a finance firm which then was converted into a bank in 2003. Kotak Mahindra Finance Ltd. became the first company in India's corporate history to receive a banking license from the Reserve Bank of India.

 

 

8. Radhakishan Damani: Radhakishan Damani, an Indian billionaire investor, businessman, and the founder of DMart, has a net worth of USD 14.5 billion. He is also known for challenging Mukesh Ambani in the retail markets. DMart, one of India's major retailers, has seen its stock price rise by 35% in the previous year, surpassing pre-COVID levels. Damani, one of India's top stock dealers, founded Avenue Supermarts in 2000, which operates the DMart chain of stores. His money is also managed by his investment firm, Bright Star Investments Limited.

9. Jay Chaudhry, an Indian-American businessman who is the CEO and founder of the cybersecurity firm Zscaler.

Dilip Shanghvi and family: According to the Hurun Global Rich List 2021, Indian billionaire businessman Dilip Shanghvi, the owner of Sun Pharmaceuticals, is the tenth richest person in the country. His and his family's net worth is estimated to be USD 12.5 billion. Shanghvi was also given the Padma Shri civilian award by the Indian government in 2016.
