1. U.S. Vice‑President J.D. Vance Begins Four‑Day Visit

Vice‑President Vance arrived in New Delhi on April 21 to meet Prime Minister Modi, aiming to advance bilateral trade and defence cooperation during a 90‑day pause on U.S. tariffs. They will discuss tariff reductions on key U.S. imports, review progress since Modi’s February talks with President Trump, and explore defence deals potentially covering Javelin missiles and Stryker vehicles ahead of U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth’s visit. 

 

2. Rupee Set to Strengthen; Bond Yields at Multi‑Year Lows
