Indian education index ranks 145th among 191 nations of the world. Despite the modernization and expansion of the Indian education system, valuing students' individuality and uniqueness remains a question mark.
10. Student-teacher ratio:
In India, the average student-teacher ratio is about 24 students per teacher for Urban students. In villages, it's about 32 students per teacher. This ratio is much farther away from Finland's ratio, which is 11:1. The better the multitude of educators, the greater will be the extent of knowledge.
9. Affordability for Studies:
Though the government tries to offer free education to students, the common people believe that this free education is lower compared to private institutes. And for most of the Competitive exams, the students are forced to join a separate coaching center which makes it's costly to pursue their dream.
8.Mark minded System:
In the Indian education system, marks secure more value than the student's skill. When it comes to higher education, they are forced to select their degree based on these marks rather than their interest. The child's individuality is being deemed as an unwanted trait in our system.
7. Motto of the system:
Today's educational system is introduced to us by the British government while Indians served them as slaves. And there should be some invisible advantages for the British to gift us with education. The mere motive behind this may be to generate the ideal slaves for serving. It is tough to acknowledge that our education is persisting in manufacturing more slaves than leaders.
6. Lack of skill development:
Our education system demands uniformity in studies, which killed the uniqueness of the individual. One who loves arts should be enabled to enhance his profession; rather, they are forced to give up on their interests. It is the primary reason for India to struggle in achieving international-level contests.
5. Theoretical way of tutoring:
Most of the syllabus in India concentrates on the theory, while the practicals are bestowed with nominal value. Thus, the students start memorizing the concept instead of understanding it. Today, the government is furnishing smart classes in schools for students to acquire practical knowledge.
4. Unstable foundation :
The Foundation Stage of education plays a crucial role in the child's personality improvement. Apart from textbooks and exams, the child needs supplementary qualities such as disciple, behavior, problem-solving abilities, situation handling power, working with a team, etc., which should be taught to the child in the foundation stages.
3. Irrelevant order of the system:
Look at the irony; one needs to pass in physics to serve as a doctor. And one clears biology, then selects engineering. Lacking the concept of the utility of the knowledge gained, the entire flow of the student's life remains in question.
2. Unrecognized talents:
In the untiring efforts of pursuing the percentage, the students themselves start ignoring their own identity. The extraordinary talents are pushed to hide behind their academics. Instead of molding students, schools started to manufacture them.

Expecting our educational system to sharpen our minds, it ended up blunting it. Most of the students lack the ability to decide on their own. They often rely on someone's guidance. And as a result, today, we are just treated as a living machine with emotions.
The great minds of India are wisely utilized by other nations, but we are still counting on those escaped products of our educational system. Still, we have time to rewrite everything. Let's together lift the prosperity of our nation.
