Top 10 reasons cloud computing doesn’t save money.

I have been using Microsoft Windows Server 2012 for a month now. I do not use most of the services provided by this platform, but I use all of them like it is necessary to complete my job at work. The server has gone down twice in less than 12 hours and there was no response from its support team to fix it. That is when I realized that what we are getting with cloud computing is a little bit different from what I am used to.

So, what was the point?

Well, let me start with the top most reasons why cloud computing doesn’t work well for us, instead of saving money or reducing costs:

1) I don’t understand how cloud computing works and where can I get help.

2) Cloud computing a lot of manual clicks and typing.

3) Cloud computing lacks the ability to manage data, it only allows you to do things like upload data files or delete them, update things, etc. and that is just too much work.

4) When you run out of disk space for your computer then everything goes dark.

5) No one on staff understands you so they cant take any action even if you try to tell you something, nothing is gonna happen.

6) There isn’t anywhere to go because you cant reach anyone.

7) Everything in office is only available on mobile devices.

8) They just make excuses about how their servers can take care of themselves and that no one has ever seen anything wrong with cloud computing.

9) Their server can only be accessed via VPN so they say.

10) And lastly…

They don’t even talk about other vendors which offers similar services. For example Netflix and Amazon web services and Google Apps are also part of their plan. So, you should not try to compare the two products.

I hope my point has helped you a bit. Don’t waste your time. Spend some more time understanding it. If you don’t want anyone to know you are still fine.

You can go ahead and explore other options with multiple locations and apps, if you need something on your own device or if you think of migrating to another location to access your data.

The key thing here is that your data is stored in an area only accessible to those who really want to, otherwise everyone else will have issues accessing it. Don’t give up. You can always share the content with others and you can also download it onto your phone to view and play the full version of “Shark Tank” on your TV.

But if you don’t want to buy someone else’s software then the best option is to create one yourself.

So, what are you waiting for, create something you think is cool and sell it to people who might need a server that does everything for them.
