M. R. Govindan is a politician from India who served as a minister before joining the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly. who was raised in the Peravurani Taluk's Mudachikadu Village. In the state assembly elections of 1977, 1980, and 1984, he was elected as an Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam candidate from Peravurani (state assembly seat) to the Tamil Nadu legislative assembly. He is the only person to have been elected to three consecutive terms as an MLA from the Peravurani assembly constituency.
