Today we are going to take a look at 10 different online jobs that you can get in 2020. Even if you're still a high school or college student, you can now, even if you're not a student, all the jobs I'm going to mention realistically pay $15 or more per hour Can, just really depends on how experienced you are with these and your attention to detail. So for most of the jobs I'm going to mention, I'd recommend using a platform like Upwork. And it is not sponsored in any way. But with Upwork, you can actually see jobs that people have already posted who are actively looking for help with our projects, you can also use something like Fiverr. But I find that with Fiverr, it's really made more for people looking for freelancers rather than the other way around. Upwork goes both ways. And there are lots of different platforms out there. But this is what I think is the easiest to start, we will start with the job in this list that requires the lowest skill level. And that would be data entry. So with data entry, it could be many different things, it could be taking one's PDF document and transferring it to word, it could be transferring data to an excel spreadsheet, it could be writing product lists. There may also be, or may even be, transferring products. From one online store to another online store. So in general, with data entry, you don't really need experience in anything, but you'll need to pay close attention to details, especially if you're copying important financial numbers, or product names. Things like , usually require it to match exactly what the client is giving you. That's why it's very important to be able to actually take the data and make sure it's exactly the same when you're transferring it wherever you go. So even with a data entry job, I'd try to look elsewhere, like Upwork. First, there's also something called Amazon Mechanical Turk. But I think it's really like a rip-off, you barely make any money out of it. The people who are posting there don't really want to get paid for quality work. So going with Upwork, you'll get a better rate and be able to charge $15 or more. It's really you set your own rate and charge whatever you want. The next job that would work well for anyone from their early teens to late 20s would be a social media manager. Now I use the word manager in quotes because there are so many courses and just spammy looking stuff where people like I will teach you how to be a social media manager for just $2,000 a week. And you won't make $10,000 in a week, don't do it. But you can earn money by managing people's social media accounts. And usually it's going to be for an influencer, someone trying to be an influencer, or some sort of brand or e-commerce store. But you can also do it for local businesses like various restaurants, or maybe you know, like a dentist or chiropractor who wants to post on social media but doesn't necessarily have the time to do it herself. So what a social media manager does is probably creating posts, maybe scheduling posts, if there are multiple people involved, maybe it's making their schedule, when things need to be posted, And making sure everyone stays on track so that the schedule is kept. Now it can also decide which channels are going to focus their attention, for example, do they pull the most business through Facebook or Instagram, or maybe they are going to do something like tik tok or something like that. are trying And so you'll really be the one to decide where they're posting what they're posting, and how often they're posting. And that leads to the third task, which is social media marketing. And then, the huge discussion. There are a bunch of very questionable courses on social media marketing. But the point is knowing how to market is a very valuable skill, and it's something companies are willing to pay for. So when I'm talking about social media marketing, mostly what I'm talking about is running ads, as well as sending out email campaigns. Both are major sources of revenue for the companies. And that's why they focus a lot of their time and their budget on this. So what you need to learn for this is how to run Facebook ads, maybe Instagram, or how to run ads like Snapchat. And then learning how to run an email campaign would also be beneficial. And there are many free platforms that you can make payments on as well as paid platforms. And once you learn one, the rest are similar in a way. So one of those freebies you can start with is MailChimp. That's what a lot of companies get started with or a lot of small businesses use it and it's very easy. It is like a drag and drop type program. But once you learn how to send effective emails, it's something people are willing to pay a lot of money for. The next job is to become a freelance writer. Now, if you are half-hearted in writing, you can definitely make more than $15 an hour, it is really hard to find a good writer. And if you are a good writer, please share your skills with the rest of us. This job can be especially good if you have knowledge of a particular niche. So for example, you can be a finance writer, you can write about online businesses, or you can write about coaching, all three of which have gained a lot of popularity. So they're just the ones that came off the top of my head with copywriting jobs, especially with the posts you see on Upwork. A lot of them would be for email campaigns, landing pages, which is like, this is the main page you're visiting someone's website on, and they're trying to sell you a service.
So if you've ever seen such coaching, landing pages, or even landing pages for courses, they actually hire people to write the sales text that tells you about their courses, or their services, or what they do. Whatever you're trying to sell. But the same goes for him. So you don't necessarily have to have a particular niche. But you can do copywriting specifically for emails, or specifically for landing pages or articles, or for what really interests you. Next Job is a virtual assistant, which if you're not already in the online job world, you may not have heard of it. But it is basically a generic term for someone online who is helping you to do the required work. Virtual assistants can perform a variety of tasks. But many times it involves some sort of customer service support, it may have to do with some of the other jobs that I have already mentioned, like scheduling social media posts, if it is for an e-commerce brand. This could be like keeping their product catalog up to date, their sales pages up to date and so on. It could also be like data entry, or really anything that they need help with. For that, it could be $15 an hour, it could be a little less, and maybe a little more, it really just depends on the customer. And what do they need you to do? The next job is to become a video editor, which I think is a little more fun than some of the others. But even if you don't have a ton of video editing experience, if you spend a day or two watching tutorials on YouTube, you can certainly learn enough to get started. And it's just a really cool skill. Because so many people are trying to produce video content or adding to the content they're already creating, that's just a ton of people looking for video editors for their YouTube videos. Have been, you know, for their Instagram or TikTok videos or even their online courses. So I think in general it's a good skill. But it's even better because you can even pay for it. And the next job of the same kind is doing graphic design. That's why Photoshop and Illustrator are the industry standards for what professional graphic designers use.
But there are also some free online alternatives, like Canva being one of them that lets you create great looking social media graphics and website graphics, different sized banners, and they have templates you can work with. So it's not ideal, it's necessary. But you can definitely get started with the next job that requires a little more skill, or at least a little more time and effort on your part, that of a web developer or a web designer. So for this you don't really need to know deep coding or anything. If you learn to use WordPress, Squarespace, Wix, any of these platforms, you can build websites for people, and you can charge them for it. And you can probably make over $15 an hour doing it. And this is another job where you might not know how to make a website at present. But if you spend a week or two on YouTube and just Googling things, you can definitely get started on one of those basic website builders. It's kind of a drag and drop situation and what makes websites great for people is that they'll pay you over $15 an hour and then as you get more familiar with them, you'll definitely move to more complex website builders. Even more for those who will pay you. So the ninth task is to teach English online. It's been a while, but especially now people are willing to pay a little more to get a good online English tutor. So a popular program through them is called VIP Kids or VIP Kid. Basically what you're doing is you're teaching international kids, you're basically having a basic conversation with them in English and teaching them simple words and words and phrases and then as you go later As you advance in the levels, you'll do the whole conversation. They're probably just practicing their sentence structure and stuff like that. And that's something that's great because it's on your own time. And you can open the time slot on which you will be willing to teach. And if that interests you, I think there's a whole English teaching side of YouTube where people have a lot of fun creating different props and stuff for their classes. So definitely go in search of that stuff. If teaching English online is something you are interested in. And the last task is translation, which, of course, will not apply to everyone. But if you were lucky enough to grow up in a bilingual household, or you were lucky enough to go to a school that actually takes the time to teach you a language, then that translation may be something people don't know. Be prepared to pay a really good amount. For the money, especially if you are completely fluent in two different languages. And you're able to translate things like medical documents or legal documents, but it's not necessarily as complicated. I know many people will pay to have their e-books or their courses translated into other languages. So those are options too. So hopefully this gives you some job ideas that you can start looking into.
