What is the most beautiful country in the world, in your opinion? Maybe the untouched wildlife of Papua New Guinea is taking your prize, or maybe your heart will always be with the amazing diversity of the USA. Wherever you think the best world exists, you are probably not wrong because beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
In addition, likely, you have not visited all the countries in the world so you would not think it is right to make such a good decision.
There are 193 countries in the world (recognized by the UN), so it may take some time to study them all so that you can make the best decision. Also, how does one decide among the complex nuances each country has?
Yes, the Rough Guides have been combining travelers' ideas with you to build a list of the 'most beautiful countries in the world for several years, and recently released their 2021 options.
In this turbulent tourism industry, this List allows us to dream about places we might go to in the future and perhaps add a country (or ten) to our bucket list. Without further excitement, these are the top 10 best and most beautiful countries in the world in 2021.
10. Japan
Japan has been at the top of my bucket list ever since I was fascinated by stories of Samurai and ninjas (in one of my favorite books as a child). Since then, I have only visited the country through a television series (like Queen Eye in Japan) and talking to Japanese students as part of my English teaching, but there are many reasons why this country is so popular.
Japan has a lot to offer guests. Foodies flocked to the country in search of their food; you can fill them with sushi, ramen, and all sorts of Japanese goodies. The vultures will enjoy the old Japanese culture and the opportunity to immerse themselves in traditional tea festivals.
Snow lovers will discover some of the world's most flourishing mountains in northern Japan. Especially this year, the country will also be playing the Summer Olympics (although only those who live in the country will be lucky enough to attend).
There are so many reasons to consider a trip to Japan!
9. France
I live very close to France, have visited several times, and had a different experience with each visit. My first trip was to Disneyland Paris when I was five years old. Next was a school history trip to Normandy to learn more about World War II.
In the middle of the University, I joined a varsity ski trip on the popular mountain range in Val Thorens. And recently, in 2019, I challenged myself to explore Paris on a 36-hour trip. The wide variety of my travels has to prove the diversity of what France offers and only Eurocamp.
France is considered to be the epitome of love for its capital and its quiet rural villages. A world of explorers and those who enjoy the beauty of nature. You can ski at many mountain resorts in the south of the country in winter, and in the summer you can relax on the beaches of the south coast.
There are incredible places like Gorges Du Verdon, which remind me of the beauty of Thailand, and there are times when you may wish to relax with a glass of wine overlooking the vineyard. There is so much to see in this diverse world.
8. Iceland
“Different parts of it look like different planets.” One day I bought a travel video tutorial on traveling by road in Southern Iceland, as my fingers fall on a post-epidemic trip to the island. More recently, the country has been in the news after a volcanic eruption near its capital.
Iceland is known for its volcanic nature and winter climate in the Northern Hemisphere, where two large plates meet. No wonder it is called love, Land of Fire and Snow.
After a huge explosion of interest in visiting Iceland since the 2010s (due to various factors, including the economic and national beauty that Instagram deserves), the place sits at the top of the bucket list for most people.
It is recommended to rent a car or van and visit one of the beauties of Iceland. And then, in the evening, you can cool off with a natural hot bath. That sounds like my idea of perfection.
7. United States of America
"From the coast to the desert, from the mountains to the apartments, to the beautiful Arctic landscapes of Alaska, warm and healthy Southern California - and some of the most beautiful cities in the world."
From the natural beauty of Berkshire's legends to the tall trees of the Redwoods, the famous Hawaiian waves, and the moon-shaped rock formations in Utah. There is something for everyone if you are willing to explore further.
I have had the opportunity to visit several major cities - Chicago, Washington DC, and New York - but I intend to move on to more common places in the future. The best way to really immerse yourself in the world is to travel on an American road trip, which I dream of doing one day.
6. Norway
Norway is one the most beautiful countries in the world because of its natural beauty. All I know is that it plays in amazing rivers, small rocky rivers, high cliffs on either side. Photos of fjords are unlikely to do local justice, but it looks amazing.
After some research in the country, Norway seems to be one of the happiest countries in the world (which may seem surprising in a country with long dark winters).
The country is also amazingly wild; the sun does not stay in the summer, the northern lights look good in winter, and you can even see the bears in the highlands if you are lucky. It really sounds like a great place to visit!
5. Canada
Canada is known as a tourist destination with its beautiful mountain ranges and lush lakes. In the summer, you can explore the world with your heart, and in the winter, you can enjoy beautiful pastries, including the world-famous Whistler and the beautiful Banff. Vancouver even played in the Winter Olympics back in 2010.
Just last week, he joked that we might go back to 2025. My fingers crossed for a moment quickly! But in the meantime, I can begin to admire the magnificent beauty of the second largest world in the world.
4. Greece
I remember visiting the island of Crete back in 2006, a year later learning about Greek history and mythology. My father and I explored the mythical labyrinths of the Minotaur on a hot summer day before returning to the hotel where my mother and brother were staying.
I wish we hadn’t stayed within the hotel boundaries because Greece has some wonderful beaches if you just make that extra effort to explore it.
In Greece, you can work hard, carelessly, go into the sun and have fun. You can jump off the island in between chopping Mediterranean salads and brewing cocktails while enjoying sandy beaches and clear waters. Apart from this, some beautiful little villages are dressed for fun - many of them only wear white!
3. United Kingdom
“The spectacular variety of plains in a small area.” Over the years, each UK nation was divided into separate ‘countries,’ which led to Scotland crowned the world’s best country in 2017. However, now the four nations have come together, and this year they have won a bronze medal.
As a UK citizen, I am proud that my country is at the top of the list. After living at home for a year because of this epidemic, I finally appreciate the many benefits this country has to offer, so I wholeheartedly agree with its inclusion.
If you look across London, the small UK islands can offer a wealth of history (from beautiful homes to castle ruins), scenic beauty (along green hills to wild seas), and a variety of cities, towns, and villages to satisfy a range of travelers.
2. New Zealand
"Newzealand has endless pleasant places.” After falling in love with the Lord of the Rings films when I was just five years old, a tour of Middle Earth in real life was my dream. In the summer between finishing second and starting university, my family and I planned a road trip around North Island, and it was one of the best places I have ever visited.
New Zealand takes good care of the most attractive tourists to fill your time in each place. What’s most appealing to everyone is enjoying the scary scene - no wonder such an old film is made here.
1. Italy
“Beautiful cities and beautiful countryside,” [and] “beautiful beaches.” Italy! And the winner of 2021 is…
My first visit to Italy was by accident; looking for cheap flights to Slovenia, Skyscanner suggested I travel by Trieste (just a two-hour trip from the Slovenian capital).
I ended up choosing that method (which turned out to be the cheapest way), and I was glad I finally got the word out. From there, I visited my friend in the old town of Treviso, where I also took a day trip to the famous Venice and visited my friend in rural Pescara.
I have heard of people who spend a whole month enjoying the splendor of Italy while visiting different cities. It is not surprising that this boot-like world actually wraps around the world's diamonds.
Highlights include Cinque de Terre, Lake Garda, the fashion capital Milan, the Tower of Pisa, the floating city of Venice, and ancient Roman history.
The world is dreamy and loving, and food is very comforting. I am not surprised that Italy came out on top; it's a wonderful place!
