Back-masking is the process of putting hidden messages, like words into audio, so that only when you play the track backward, you will be able to hear and realize them. Hence we discuss about few legendary rock bands and their songs which were claimed to be back-masked.
(1) The Beatles: The Beatles were famous for their iconic tunes and sounds, but they also had a secret message behind their music. John Lennon and George Martin both said they came across the backward recording technique when they were recording their 1966 album Revolver, especially the tracks Tomorrow Never Knows and I'm Just Sleeping, as well as the single Rain.
(2) Pink Floyd: It appears to be validated that Pink Floyd's Empty Spaces holds some truth in the theory suggesting that Pink was influenced by Barret to some extent. Within the song, Roger Waters cleverly includes a concealed message that can only be deciphered if one is aware beforehand. This message can be heard when the track is played backward, beginning with the phrase Congratulations. You have just discovered the secret message. Please send your answer to the old Pink.
(3) Led Zeppelin: It is claimed that within the central part of the song Stairway to Heaven, there exists a hidden message when played in reverse. It supposedly says, here’s to my sweet Satan...the one whose little path would make me sad, and whose power is Satan...He will give you 666. There was a little tool shed where he made us suffer, sad Satan.
(4) Styx, Snow-blind: If you listen to this song in reverse for about 33 minutes, you will finally understand the secret message: the devil speaks through our voices. However, this message didn't convince me to purchase the band’s album.
(5) Cradle of filth: Dinner at deviant’s palace: If you listen to the lord’s prayers backward, during the time of the Puritans. You would be punished by being burned at the stake. Nowadays, I just bring a bunch of demons to take you to McDonald’s for more happy meals. I still don't know which one is worse.
(6)Slayer, Hell Awaits: Slayer did not have to follow the trend of hidden messages in songs, and I did not have to keep listening to their messages and join us repeatedly to buy their album from 1985. I immediately became very interested when Kerry King started playing his pick on the strings of his scary guitar.
(7)Iron Maiden, Still Life: This song is on the album called Piece of Mind. Many Maiden fans wonder what the message is at the beginning of the song Still Life when it is played backward. Even if you listen to it in reverse, it is mostly impossible to understand.
(8)Judas Priest, Better by You Better than Me: In the middle of the night, the song Love Bites is one of the famous messages sung by Judas Priest. Another hidden message, do it, caused the band to go to court in 1990. This happened because two young men ended their lives, supposedly because of the band’s message.
(9) Marilyn Manson, Tourniquet: Manson says that this is the weakest point where you can get hurt when you listen to this song in reverse. It’s a strong message. But don’t worry, Manson is known for hiding other messages by reversing them in his song, like saying, I am gonna kill you, kill yourself, kill yourself in a dope hat or Jesus loves the little children, all the children of the world in revelation#9.
(10) Sound garden, 665: A few devotees claim that when Chris Cornell said, I cherish you Santa, baby: Santa is my ruler. With his covered-up message, he was essentially satirizing other evil groups who covered up messages from the dull ruler in their lyrics. Joe Soil, an elderly observer who now and then voyages with the band, claims that the shaken star implied to say Satan, but he fair pissed off the off-based sound blender.
