Even though there is poverty in the country, most of the Indians belong to the middle class. Even some of the world’s richest people do live in India.

This can be considered one of the most inaccurate stereotypes because most Indians are highly educated. Even the poor people in India strive to provide education to their children. Plenty of doctors and engineers come out of India. All sorts of educational qualifications like Ph.D., MBA are also studied by many of the Indians.
- All Indians are IT, experts.
This misconception is opposite to the previous misconception. This is because most of the scam calls received by foreigners are Indian IT scam calls. Actually, India has a lot of talents showcased in a variety of fields. Most popular personalities from India include Priyanka Chopra, a Bollywood famous actress and singer, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who has greatly achieved in Politics and is the current prime minister of India; MS Dhoni, a great Indian cricketer and many other personalities who are known for their contributions in a vast range of fields.
- All marriages are arranged.
Most foreigners think only arranged marriage happens in India. Though most marriages are arranged by parents, there is currently a huge rise in love marriages.
- All Indians are vegetarians.
Indians worship cows, and so many foreigners believe all Indians are vegetarians. Most Indians eat chicken, mutton, and even beef and have a wide variety of varied vegetarian dishes.
- All Indians worship millions of Gods.
Most people think all Indians worship several Gods, and these Gods have multiple heads and arms. This is actually followed by Hindus, which is the largest religion in India. They do believe God is in everything, and hence they have portrait Gods like this. Hence, every living and non-living thing is viewed as sacred. Each God is known for its specialty. For example, Lord Ganesh is worshipped so that he neglects people’s obstacles.
- Indians do yoga and say Namaste.
Most foreigners believe that all Indians are spiritual. The spiritual practice done in Western countries is entirely different from the ones followed in India. ‘Namaste’ is actually a greeting word used by Hindi-talking people.
1. India has no toilets
Most Indian places have toilets, and in some villages, toilets are not present. However, the Indian government has claimed that the situation is gradually improved these days. Only 5% of the Indian population has no access to toilets which clearly proves false.
