#1 Call of Duty: Black ops cold war

Our list of top FPS games would not be complete without a game from this legendary franchise, and Call of Duty Black Ops: Cold War is the winner. You may choose which missions to take on and when, and how much time you want to spend hunting for more information. This is a departure from the linear nature of the previous games in the series. You're sent after Soviet nuclear spy Perseus in a campaign that draws heavily on the 1980s and mixes reality with fantasy. In addition to classic game modes, Call of Duty: Black Ops II has a new 40-player Fireteam mode, a new Zombies storyline called Dark Aether, and a progression system that links into Call of Duty: Warzone.

#2 Insurgency: Sandstorm

A realistic team-based shooter. It does away with current FPS comforts like hit marks and kills confirmation notifications, giving it an entirely new feel. Sandstorm requires you to visually confirm your kills, which means you'll need to fire a few more shots into your foes to ensure they're still there. Under this game, staying in cover and cooperating with your group is more important than taking risks.

#3 Counter-Strike: Global Offensive

The Counter-Strike franchise has dominated the competitive shooter arena for years now. An updated console port, CS: GO, is currently the de facto method to play this Terrorist vs. Counter-Terrorist FPS on PC. As there are no respawns during rounds, all players can do is watch and pray that their team is successful in detonating/defusing the bomb or saving/retaining hostages.
A variety of strategies may be employed on each map, and the firearms in your arsenal have shooting speeds and recoil characteristics that can only be mastered via practice. As a result, the game's skill ceiling is virtually inconceivable, and cooperative cooperation and heroic moments are equally valued.

#4 Titanfall 2

Our favorite part of Titanfall 2 was its narrative, despite a variety of excellent multiplayer choices. As a type of game jam, the single-player portion of Titanfall 2 was developed by different team members. In the end, the game offers a unique combination of platforming difficulties, level-changing tools, puzzle components, and the company of lovable mech buddy BT, a huge talking metal dog.

#5 Metro Exodus

Instead of Metro 2033 and Metro: Last Light's cramped Moscow subway tunnels, Metro Exodus has a mix of open and linear locations across an unexpectedly rich and alive Russia. There are still horrifying adversaries, noisy comrades, loud and terrible weaponry, and the greatest post-apocalyptic Eastern European setting since Stalker. Its heart, though, is what makes it tick.
A wedding song about the loss of innocence in wartime is one of the game's most memorable moments, surpassing most shooters' repetitive togetherness, and it's one of the game's most memorable moments, surpassing most shooters' formulaic friendliness.

#6 Far Cry 2

FPS series (and FPS genre) continue to "develop," due to which it's simpler than ever to appreciate Far Cry 2.
Throughout Far Cry 2, you will be plagued with sickness, uncontrollable fires, a shortage of resources, aggressive opponents, and a persistent bleakness. In a manner that few other FPS, open-world, or survival games have ever achieved, this game is oppressive and pushes you to think quickly.

#7 Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare

The Call of Duty brand has been all over the place in recent years, from WWII missions to space adventures to battle royale combat. Infinity Ward's remake of the legendary 2007 classic, Call of Duty: Black Ops II, brings the first-person shooter franchise back to its roots.
Modern Warfare is not without its fascinating elements, though. This Call of Duty title features a tactical single-player campaign and strong multiplayer options, but it skillfully eliminates unnecessary aspects. An entirely new morality system has been added to the singleplayer campaign, which grades your ability to tell innocent individuals from genuine dangers.

#8 PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds

Battle royale games were popularised by PUBG. Although it wasn't technically the first battle royale game, Fortnite popularised several of the genre's mainstays, such as randomized gear on a large area, a starting aircraft from which players parachute, and an ever-shrinking play zone. Now it's more refined, with a selection of maps that appeal to different play styles. PUBG's fast-paced gameplay and realistic bullet mechanics set it apart from the competition, as well as the fact that it can be played for extended periods of time without seeing another player.

#9 Warhammer: Vermintide 2

Warhammer Fantasy, it turns out, is the right setting for Left 4 Dead's concepts. Warhammer villains are dealt with axes, arrows, spells, and swords in Vermintide 2, a cooperative first-person shooter. Merely said, it's the most gratifying melee fighting you'll find anywhere. There are additional weapon kinds and opponents in the sequel and a new advancement system based on treasure boxes.

#10 Call Of Duty: Warzone

As a battle royale, Call of Duty: Warzone succeeds in translating CoD's usually frenetic close-quarters action into a 150-player setting. A deadly paradise of industries and skyscrapers bordered by high mountains, Verdansk is the first map in the game. Warzone's streamlined looting is even better, which does away with bags and allows you to call in custom load-outs. The game's concentration on twitch shooting ability instead of looting is a welcome change of pace for the genre. Every player has a second shot at life in the Gulag, a 1v1 battle club. Activision is dedicated to keeping Warzone fresh with new content for months to come, as it is a standalone game.
