Top 10 Facts:Inside the NEET-UG 2026 Re-Examination

On June 21,2026 ,the National Testing Agency (NTA) is conducting a nationwide re examination for NEET-UG after the initial test held on May 3 was cancelled due to irregularities. More the 22 lakh aspirants are appearing across 5440 centres in 551 cities to compete for medical seats. To uphold the integrity of the process, the NTA has implemented an unprecedented security framework, including  AI-enabled CCTV surveillence, biometric verification and signal jammers.  

The examination format has been updated to be more candidate - friendly, with thw duration extended to 195 minutes to allow students additonal time. Furthermore, the question booklet now includes increased space for rough work to assist with calculations. Stringent guidelines regarding dress codes and prohibited items--such as mobile phones and electronic devices --are being strictly enforced to prevent malpractice.  Over two lakh personnel, including observers and security forces, have been deployed to ensure the smooth conduct of this single -shift test.
