Samsung

 

Not only is Samsung the biggest company on the Fortune Global 500, it’s also the first company ever to be in the top ten of this list with a 3.1 billion business revenue.

 

And, even though Samsung has been officially on top for over a year, it recently dropped to 7th place after Apple overtook Samsung as the world’s largest company in the world.

 

The South Korean conglomerate’s fortune had previously held its spot for 25 years.

 

  ExxonMobil

 

According to data from Bloomberg, ExxonMobil is the second-biggest company in the world by revenue (the largest is Apple).

 

ExxonMobil is the largest publicly traded oil and gas corporation in the world, with a combined valuation of $369 billion. It’s also been around for almost a century, having been formed in 1890.

 

Toyota

 

Toyota is, once again, the largest company on the list. It has a $201 billion global business revenue.

 

The Japanese company is the most valuable automaker in the world and one of the biggest corporations in the world in general.

 

Google

 

And finally, the biggest company on the Fortune Global 500 list for 2014 is Google. Google has a business revenue of $182 billion.

 

While Google’s revenue may have dropped, its market share (which is often considered a proxy for success) has risen over the past three years.

 

Best of all, the company is also publicly traded, giving us a way to track its growth.

 

 Apple

 

And finally, the 8th biggest company on the Fortune Global 500 list is Apple, which has a revenue of $178 billion.

 

Unlike the other companies on this list, Apple is not a public company, which gives it some exclusivity.

 

However, despite that, the company is still moving in the right direction. And, last year, its revenue was up by 20%.

The company operates in many segments, and is involved in both the home, commercial and industrial sectors, as well as the oil & gas industry. GE manufactures a variety of different types of equipment, including power plant turbines, as well as light bulbs and consumer appliances.

 

Intel

 

In terms of revenue, Intel is the world’s leading semiconductor manufacturer. This tech company produces both microprocessors and microprocessors as well as numerous types of digital and analog chips for laptops, personal computers, and servers. The company currently employs 1,300 people, and counts General Electric and Boeing among its many major customers.
