There are two types of people trying to gain muscle; the first are vegetarians, and the second, nonvegetarians. Given below are both vegetarian and non-vegetarian items.
-
Non-vegetarian items:
- Chicken Breast
Chicken is made for muscles. Who doesn't like chicken? If you're a hardcore non-vegetarian like me, then my friend, this is especially for you. Meat is one of the best sources of protein and especially chicken breasts. Chicken is one of those protein sources which help in lean muscle gain. It doesn't give you bulky muscles. And trust me, you don't want that either.
-
Egg
Eggs are rich in protein, nutrients, and healthy fats. Eggs contain large amounts of amino acids like leucine that take part in muscle gain and vitamins too. It has vitamin B that helps with energy production in the body.
-
Salmon
Salmon helps in muscle development and the overall well-being of our body. Every 85 grams of salmon contain 2 grams of omega-3 fatty acids and 17 grams of protein. And it also has important vitamins like vitamin B. Add this to your diet fast.
-
Crabs
One of my most favorites, tasty, crabs. Helps in muscle gain with the tastiness.
-
Shrimp
Shrimp is full of protein. No carbs, another bonus. Shrimps help build muscles fast without any extra calories. It also has a high amount of amino acid, leucine, which, as we know, is a great source of muscle gain.
Some extra items are crabs, fish like tuna and hilsa, and many more.
- Vegetarian items:
-
Soybeans
Soybeans contain unsaturated fats, lots of protein, minerals, and several vitamins. Great source of vitamin K and phosphorus (P). It's a high source of iron, which helps store and transport oxygen in your blood and can help fight iron deficiency which can impair muscle gain. Young women are particularly at risk of iron deficiency due to losing blood during menstruation. Just don't forget to cook it, and you're good to go. A half-cup a day will suffice.
-
Cheese
Everybody loves cheese. In pizza, pasta and anything else. Cheese doesn't only taste good; it also helps gain muscle due to the high content of amino acid leucine—especially cottage cheese. Cottage cheese is the best source of lean gains. Tip: Don't go for creamed ones. Those have higher calories.
-
Beans
Black beans, pinto, and kidney beans contain a great amount of protein. These are excellent sources of fibers and vitamins. In addition, it also contains iron, phosphorus, and magnesium.
-
Chickpeas
Chickpeas are filled with carbs and protein. Also known as garbanzo, beans work like a charm. Rich source of protein. Add it to your diet,, and you wouldn't regret it.
-
Yogurt
Dairy products are packed with protein. And it also helo in the good digestion of protein in our body. Researches have shown that yogurt helps in lean muscles faster than any other food supplement. Especially if you go for Greek yogurt, it has less fat and doubles the amount of regular yogurt.
A personal tip? Eat it before going to bed,, and you'll see the difference so fast that you wouldn't even believe it.
These were, in my opinion, the best working food items for lean gains. What's yours? You can also consider trying quinoa, peanuts, milk, almonds, and brown rice.
