INGREDIENTS:

Mutton bones - 250 g

Onion - 1/2

Tomato - 1

Ginger garlic paste - 1 tsp

Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp

Red chilli powder - 1/2 tsp

Pepper powder - 1/2 tsp

Toor dal - 1 tbsp

Oil - 1 tsp

Bay leaf - 1

Cinnamon - 1

Cloves - 4

Salt to taste

Curry & coriander leaves

DIRECTIONS:

STEP 1. Clean and wash mutton bone pieces.

STEP 2. Add it to cooker.

STEP 3. Add sliced onion, tomato, curry & coriander leaves.

STEP 4. Add ginger garlic paste.

STEP 5. Add turmeric powder, red chili powder, toor dal and salt.

STEP 6. Add 4 to 5 cups of water and stir.

STEP 7. Cover & pressure-cook for 4 whistles in high flame.

STEP 8. Simmer the flame and cook for another 10 to 12 mins.

STEP 9. Turn off flame.

STEP 10. Once the pressure goes off, open the lid and mash the contents.

STEP 11. You can see the mutton bones are cooked perfect.

STEP 12. Heat 1 tsp of oil in frypan.

STEP 13. Add cinnamon, cloves, bay leaf and curry leaves.

STEP 14. Allow to splutter.

STEP 15. Add the seasonings to mutton soup and stir.

STEP 16. Add pepper pwd and turn off flame.

STEP 17. Add freshly chopped coriander leaves.

STEP 18. Serve hot.

STEP 19. It tastes lipsmacking delicious with all the goodness of it.

TIPS:

1. You can use freshly chopped vegetables in your soup if you don't have frozen mixed vegetables.
2. Garnish your mutton soup with crushed or powdered black pepper for getting relief from cold & cough.
3. You may also garnish the soup with crisped shallotts for an extra crunch.
