Top 10 Apple Watch settings

time to get ready for some maintenance and you don't have to wait for its next update to do it. The good news is that all the most important features are already enabled by default on iOS 14 and up. Luckily, they're easy to find on the App Store and in the Home screen app. Fortunately, if you need to change any of these settings while your apple watch is still running, then it's just as easy to reboot it and use your phone instead.

Note that this post isn't intended for medical purposes, or for diagnosing disease, however, there may be helpful advice to help you avoid problems at first glance. For example, if your wrist has become swollen after an infection, this could signify that the wrist wasn't washed properly before. Another reason why you might want to see this list is to know where your phone is located. Since this can change in seconds, you may want to bookmark this page so that you can always reload it, in case that happens.

If the above isn't clear then we've made a full breakdown of all the settings available. In addition, each one should only be applied to new devices, so if you haven't updated your device since the last version, you shouldn't even notice them anymore. So, hereit is. Before you start with our top picks, make sure to head over to the Home screen and check out the notifications tab.

12 Notifications And Their Controls

1. Alerts

Apple gives us three alerts, but what are the difference between those? Do they remind me when something pops up? Do they mean something? When it comes to being alerted for something via an alert, I always use my phone to tap on them, but for most apps, there's no control on their interface. While using the home screen, tap on 'Calls', then choose a contact whose number you'd like to receive an alert about. Some people prefer opening notifications from anywhere. As they say, nothing beats the original iPhone.

2. Alarms

I personally never used alarms and alarms never worked for me. Don’t you think it's better to take action if you get alerted every 30 minutes for things you didn't even consciously realize were happening? Thankfully, Apple has changed that. Now, whenever an alarm goes off, you can tap on it to open it the same way an email does today. Pretty cool, right?! However, when you choose a different alarm, you select a notification to put an alarm on - meaning you can also set an alarm to automatically go off every hour in the morning. This is great because you can wake up early and not miss anything you wish to happen when you decide to leave the house. You can even schedule your alarm to send to you at specific times - for example, in the morning you can set an alarm to send a message to someone who's been late for work without having to turn on notifications. There are lots of options.

3. Timers

When you choose to see what time your phone is, you can select a timer to keep your phone on standby. If you don't want your device to go into another battery state, then swipe down and select your power settings. From where you'll choose an option such as Wake up and shut-down timers, which will give you your phone back on standby. On the left of it will be a clock widget. What does it look like? That's where the fun begins! Once you swipe down, click on the box beside the clock and from that choice select Sleep Time. This will switch your phones light on and your phone will stay awake. It doesn't matter how many hours your phone stays on standby, if the alarm goes off at 5pm it won't bother and you can pick and choose your alarm again. No complaints, that's just as well.

4. Battery Life

Most people never use batteries, it only takes up space, and you have to charge it manually. With more than two dozen other watches, you have to charge it to keep track of them all. However, now, Apple has taken care of that problem. They've added an app called Charging. As its
name suggests, Charging lets you see the amount of time your phone is taking. But remember not to drain your battery too quickly or you can end up going through hours of sleep. Alternatively, for example, you can add energy from the AirPods as well.

5. Water Resistance

Apple says that they consider water resistance to be one of the most important features on their products, so they want to protect against that. Most time you won't even notice this setting as it is usually triggered by flashing lights. However, with most iPhones nowadays, this probably isn't an issue as they include physical buttons, so there isn't much of an excuse to disable this feature.

6. Health Information

Apple does this sometimes as if it's standard and everyone who uses this technology knows about the health information options available. A large portion of people don't remember this setting, but you can select it to view information on your watch like heart rate, blood oxygen levels, breathing rate, and temperature readings. If you have an ECG monitor, then you can also view it in your home screen. Lastly, if you have high blood pressure or diabetes, you can view it to help prevent it.

7. Digital Crown

The digital crown is quite advanced, especially when compared to traditional crowns. This is a very convenient feature. By installing Bluetooth connection
you can play music, record videos and watch movies on the watch. This also allows you to do tasks like controlling volume and playback. Unlike regular watches, the digital crown can connect to headphones and allow you to access apps on the watch via Wi-Fi. Unfortunately, it's expensive too, around $50 dollars (this includes the watch). On Amazon, you can buy it for $500 with shipping included for free. Check it out if this feature is particularly appealing to you.

8. Calibration

Your Apple Watch has to be calibrated before you are able to connect to any apps. This might seem counterintuitive, but you need the perfect alignment on your wrists to be comfortable. Apple recommends that you set the watch to your waist to keep it perfectly aligned. An option to do that would be to do it yourself during the day. Or, you can have a professional do it for you.

9. Multiroom Sync

This is perhaps the best feature on Apple's products that works seamlessly. Whenever you connect the watch to multiple devices, it syncs them together on the fly. This means you can control it from other connected devices simultaneously without a hitch. Of course, this process also requires your wrist to be covered up for safety reasons.

10. Face ID

Face ID is pretty standard on Apple devices. This feature makes it possible to unlock the watch, but also for unlocking accessories and smartwatches, but more importantly, to show your face to others. However, there are plenty of alternatives to this, including fingerprint scanners. Just tap the watch and your device will recognize it. But there is one thing that users may have trouble with though, depending on where they're wearing it. When I was shopping, I had a hard time finding a watch that actually allowed you to identify yourself. That would allow us to access certain apps quicker and easily, which would increase our satisfaction rates even further. You can activate Face ID in multiple ways. First, you can swipe down and select the watch next to your hand. Second, you can hold or press your finger on the watch and scroll toggles to toggle the mode on or off. Those are the simplest methods by far. Finally, you can use facial recognition to scan your face and unlock the watch. So, with all this, is it worth buying a WatchOS 7.5? Well, if you're after a classic design as opposed to newer offerings, the answer is yes. Make sure that you read reviews, especially when it comes to security features, before making a purchase. We recommend looking into whether or not you can trust TOS 7.5, especially if you are working with Apple on future projects. We've personally used it and felt no issues at all.

11. Always On Display

As you probably knew already, Apple tries to minimise the size of their devices. However, as I said previously, this feature is really nice because you can always see on your watch what notifications you've received. Again, this is a feature shared across
all Apple devices. Even if you decide to disable this feature, it still shows notifications when they pop up, unlike a typical watch. You can configure the settings for both notifications and general info, for example, in order to display the latest ones. After selecting a particular app to review, you can tap on it to reveal a selection of choices that you can choose the following two options; Open, Hide and Lock. Tap on the app to customize your settings, and then follow the instructions to complete the setup process. You will need to pay extra for services like iCloud storage with this.
