It was an absolute treat to watch every step of the way the dog fights and action sequences were performed. The reason why I double down and hone in on the fact that you need to watch this on the big screen is that the training sequences, dogfights, and ultimate mission at hand are a visual spectacle like no other.
This film doesn’t need AI images or special effects to support
This is also one of the rare event films which is not jarringly dependent on CGI and VFX, so much so that it takes away from the practical set pieces. You genuinely feel like you are in the cockpit experiencing the physical toll that it takes on a fighter pilot, dependent on the various altitudes and speeds at which they are flying. I could see myself physically getting closer and closer to the screen as the dogfights ensued. The reason why I say watching the first film and then going on to this it's completely different is because the moment shared between Iceman and Maverick made me extremely emotional, and you have to have the context to the history that they had, to fully grasp the emotional baggage that Maverick is holding on to. The vulnerability that Tom showcases in that scene is a testament also to the capable performer he is, and the moment will be etched in stone, especially for fanboys, who, I’m sure, got visibly teary-eyed. Top Gun Maverick delivers in so many ways, guaranteeing you the big-screen action spectacle that it promises to be. Trust me, there's no way this film is going to disappoint you. The scale, execution, and vision have been so well crafted and thought after, that you quickly realize this is not just for the fanboys of the franchise, but for action film fans globally.
