Mahendra Singh Done is a professional cricketer from India who was born on July 7, 1981. In limited-overs formats from 2007 to 2017 and in Test cricket from 2008 to 2014, he served as the leader of the Indian national team. One of the best cricket captains, wicket keeper batsmen, and finishers in history is largely regarded as being MS Done. He is a right-handed wicket keeper batsman who is renowned for his cool leadership and his capacity to win games in tense circumstances. Additionally, he serves as Chennai Super Kings' current captain in the Indian Premier League.
A Jharkhand native who was raised in Ranchi, Bihar, Because of his remarkable wicket-keeping abilities, he was selected to play in the 1997/98 Vinod Trophy Under-16 Championship and did well. Done played his first Test match against Sri Lanka a year after making his ODI debut on December 23, 2004, against Bangladesh in Chittagong.[14] A year later, he took the field in his debut T20I match against South Africa.[15] He succeeded Rahul David as India's ODI and Twenty20 international captains in 2007, respectively.[16] He was chosen to lead a test in 2008.[17] His performance as captain in the Test format was mixed, but he was successful in guiding India to series victories over New Zealand in 2008 and the Border Trophy (home series against Australia in 2010 and 2013).[18] Done is the first cricketer to have won all three of the major ICC trophies in other forms, as India won the World Cup under his leadership.
In addition to taking Chennai Super Kings (CSK) to the Indian Premier League final on 10 occasions and to victories in the league's 2010, 2011, 2018, 2021, and 2023 editions, he has also won the Champions League T20, in 2010 and 2014.
