It is a country that has produced a number of outstanding cricketers. We have compiled a list of the top 7 Indian cricket players, who are known as the best since they have set numerous unbreakable records in the sport.
1. Sachin Tendulkar
Sachin Tendulkar is widely regarded as the greatest cricketer of all time. He is also a winner off the field, as he has been on it. Tendulkar has almost 29 million Instagram followers and another 29 million on Facebook.
He has set numerous records during the course of his 22-year career. Among his achievements are having the most hundreds in both Tests (51) and ODIs (49), playing the most Test and ODI matches (200), being the greatest run scorer in the 1996 Cricket World Cup, and many others.
2. Virat Kohli
The current captain of the Indian national team is Virat Kohli. He is recognized as one of the best batsmen in the world, with high records to his name. He is the best-paid player in the Indian Premier League (IPL) and captains Royal Challengers Bangalore. His list of achievements includes the fastest century by an Indian cricketer in one-day internationals (52 balls), the fastest Indian to reach 1,000 runs in one-day internationals, the fastest Indian and third fastest in the world to reach 5,000 runs in one-day internationals, and many more.
3. MS Dhoni
MS Dhoni, sometimes known as Mahi, is an Indian cricketer who captained the Indian national side in limited-overs and Test cricket from 2007 to 2014. He is an excellent wicket-keeper and a right-handed middle-order batter.
He is well-known for his helicopter shot and as one of the best finishers in the world. He captains Chennai Super Kings in the IPL and was instrumental in their victory last year.
4. Virender Sehwag
Virender Sehwag, a veteran Indian opener who is widely considered as one of the most destructive batters of all time, is also one of India's most popular sports figures.
He always started the contest with an aggressive approach. Sehwag holds several records, including the greatest Test score by an Indian (319 against South Africa at M. A. Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai), the fastest triple century in the history of international cricket (300 off only 278 balls), and the fastest 250 by any batsman.
5. Rohit Sharma
Rohit Gurunath Sharma, the vice captain of the Indian cricket team, is active on social media. Previously, the right-handed hitter was a right-arm off break bowler.
In the Indian Premier League, he is the captain of the Mumbai Indians. His records include the most fours in an ODI inning (33), the most sixes (16) in an ODI inning, and many more.
6. Gautam Gambhir
Gautam Gambhir is a former Indian cricketer who captained Kolkata Knight Riders and Delhi Daredevils in the Indian Premier League.
He is a left-handed opening batsman who played domestic cricket for Delhi (IPL). He captained the Indian squad in six One-Day Internationals in 2010-11, winning all six. He was instrumental in India's victories in the 2007 World Twenty20 (75 runs from 54 balls) and 2011 Cricket World Cup finals.
7. Yuvraj Singh
Yuvraj Singh is a well-known Indian cricketer who was named Man of the Tournament in the 2011 ICC Cricket World Cup and one of the best performers in the 2007 ICC World Twenty20, both of which India won. He is known around the world for hitting six sixes in a row in a World Twenty match against England in 2007.
He was diagnosed with a malignant tumor in his left lung in 2012 and was treated with chemotherapy. After a difficult period, he was discharged in March 2012 and made his international comeback in a Twenty20 match against New Zealand in September, just before the 2012 World Twenty20.
