1) Define your perfect vacation
My perfect vacation is all about exploring new places, meeting new people, and enjoying my time with my friends and family. I love going somewhere that I don't know anything about and seeing it for myself. When I go on a vacation, I want to explore everything. I want to meet as many locals as possible so that they can share their culture with me, their way of life, and how they make their living in the area. One of the best ways to do this is by staying at a locally owned place like an inn or bed & breakfast, eating at locally owned restaurants (which are usually cheaper than touristy ones), and getting tips from people who live there. It's amazing how much more you'll learn if you spend some time just walking around. Plus, I always feel good knowing that what I'm spending is actually going back into the community instead of being swallowed up by greedy corporations that only care about profit margins and not at all about sustainability. So plan your trip responsibly!
2) Do your research
There are many factors that go into planning a perfect vacation, including where you'll stay, what activities you'll do and what kind of food you'll eat. However, these three secrets have been proven time and time again to make your vacation enjoyable.
1) Location is key! Decide where your ideal destination would be - whether it's a tropical location or somewhere on the other side of the world. You'll want to look at things like how much traveling will be involved and if the cost for different types of lodging varies drastically in different parts of the world. Think about both long-term (what will you do for work when you return?) and short-term (your travel expenses). Once you've found your destination, get recommendations from friends or family who have visited before so that they can offer tips on how best to spend their time there. You may also want to read travel blogs written by people who live in the area, which can provide insight into unique aspects of living there day-to-day, as well as favorite places in town worth checking out while visiting.
3) Set a budget
Planning a vacation can be stressful, but it doesn't have to be. Start by setting a budget, so you know how much you have to work with. A good rule of thumb is to take 30% of your annual salary and divide it by 12 months. This will give you an idea of how much money you'll need per month for your family's expenses. Divide this number by three to get the total amount that should be set aside for each trip. Plan ahead: It may seem like plenty of time before your next trip, but if you don't plan ahead now, you might end up being stuck booking last minute - which usually means paying more! Figure out what kind of vacation experience you want: Do you want to stay close to home? Book a staycation instead! Want something more adventurous? Research different destinations and their accommodations before deciding where to go.
