This year had turned out to be critical from the health perspective due to the adverse effect of pandemic present in the world, which has infected millions of people worldwide with many cases of taking the life of people around the world. Unfortunately, many renowned personalities have died in India from different walks of life after infecting with the virus.

It was recently only that many politicians from Southern India were reported dead due to the virus. A prominent politician from the Indian National congress Ahmed Patel has recently passed away after diagnosing multiple organ failures. Ahmed Patel was a veteran politician from the Indian National Congress who has been in mainstream politics for several decades and was close to Rajeev Gandhi, former Prime minister of India.

Ahmed Patel was one of those politicians who has been involved in the major developments and decisions made by the Indian national congress in the past decades. He played an important role in forming the Telangana state when he brought all the ministers of the UPA Government in the alliance to agree in favor of Telangana's formation in 2014. He helped Former President Pranab Mukherjee over the dispute about the formation of the Telangana state by making an agreement of Congress Ministers over the affair.
He had played a major role in winning national elections for the Indian National Congress in the years 2004 and 2009. His strategies and tactics to bring in the alliance of political parties with the Indian National Congress helped the comeback of UPA in 2009, which played a key role in extending the rule of Former Prime minister Manmohan Singh till 2014.

It is interesting to note that he was one of those rare politicians who had been present in the Congress party within all the three generations of Gandhi's family from Indira Gandhi to Rahul Gandhi. He did not belong to Gandhi's family. Still, his role was major in the development of the predominant party of Gandhis from the time of Indira Gandhi when he became the youngest Lok sabha member after he was encouraged by Indira Gandhi to join mainstream politics. It is interesting to note that he was quite close to Sonia Gandhi and had helped her making major decisions relating to the party.
He was a low profiled Minister who maintained good individual camaraderie with all the ministers of the Indian national congress and has also resolved the conflict within the ruling Congress party in Rajasthan when there was a tiff created between the head of ministers of Rajasthan. However, he himself was never interested in taking up major ministry in the party even though he was offered big ministries by the Gandhi Family almost three times in the past years.
His dedication towards the welfare of the party was such that while no minister from the congress met anyone at night time, he was an exception who had worked overnight for the people's welfare associated with the Indian national congress. His demise has left a major vacancy in the Indian national congress party, which can not be filled in the future.
