Plants and how the plants help to us to live

PLANTS. 

When we look around, we see different kinds of plants. We see grasses, plants, trees, bushes, herbs, etc. Plants are the main source of food for all living beings. Plants are the only living things that can make their own food. Of most of the plants, each has roots, a stem, leaves, flowers, fruits, and seeds. Each part of a plant helps to entire plant to grow. The plants make their food in the leaves. So the leaves are called the food factory of the plants. Only green leaves can make food for the plant. 

Structure of leaves

Uses of plants. 

Plants are the main sources of food for man and Animals. We get carbohydrates, protein, fats, minerals and vitamins from plants. The food what we mostly eat belongs to grass family. These are called the cereals. Cereal grains like wheat are used to make bread and chapati. Rice is cooked whole and eaten. 

Sugar are made from sugarcane stems. Grasses are also used as food for buffaloes, cows, sheep, goats, and horses. Grasses are used to make paper. Bamboos, palm leaves and grass are used to make huts. Grasses are also used to make chairs, mats and baskets. 

Oils.

Different types of oils are obtained from seeds of plants. Oils of coconut, sunflower and groundnut are used in cooking. Oils of clove, camphor and eucalyptus are used in making medicines. 

Oils of rose, jasmine and sandalwood are used to make perfumes. Coconut and olives are used in manufacturing soaps 

Distribution of plants

Plants are found all over the world. They grow in different conditions. Plants grow in water and on land. They grow in hot deserts and in cold places. The plants adapt according to the conditions of the environment. Survival of the plants depends on the condition of the environment like type of soils temperature of the places, rainfall, amount of the water available and light and wind. 

There are 380,000 (approx) types of plants are there. They are being divided into two types aquatic and terrestrial plants 

Aquatic water plants 

Plants that grow in water are called aquatic plants. It believed that 3 billion years ago, plants grown on earth were, water plants. Aquatic plants are of three types =

1. Floating  2. Fixed  3. Underwater plants

 

    Terrestrial plants

Plants that grow on land are called terrestrial plants. The Largest  living being in the earth is also a land plant. Sequoia is the tallest tree found in California, USA. It is 83 meters tall and the diameter of 'its' trunk is 24 meters. Terrestrial plants are. 

Common land plants, sea coast plants, desert plants, Hill plants, Parasitic plants, insectivorous plants. 

We humans must save the plants from destroying units in earth because the plants become trees tomorrow, so the trees are the most important thing help to live human

Don't's

* Don't do deforestation. 

* Don't through plastic on plants. 

* Don't cut the trees and plants.
