On Friday, July 14, at 2.35 PM IST, the Chandrayaan-3 mission of the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) lifted off from Space Center. The lander's trip to the moon will take close to 42 days to complete.

The spacecraft successfully launched from Earth and is currently traveling towards the Moon in an orbit around the planet. According to, director of the Chandrayaan-3 spacecraft, it has a number of crucial events planned, including earth-bound maneuvers, insertion into the lunar orbit, separation of the lander, a sequence of maneuvers, and a power descent phase for a smooth landing.

LVM-3 is a rocket.

The Launch Vehicle Mark-III, the most potent rocket operated by ISRO, is carrying the Chandrayaan-3 mission into orbit. Two S2000 solid rocket boosters will supply the push needed for takeoff and power the launch vehicle. As soon as the solid boosters detach from the launch vehicle, the L110 liquid stage will take over. The vehicle will be powered by the CE25 cryogenic stage after the liquid stage has been separated. It is launched by an ISRO Launch Vehicle Mark-III (LVM3) M4 rocket from the Space Center in on Friday, July 14, 2023.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi commented on the launch of Chandrayaan-3 on his Twitter account. "A new chapter in India's space odyssey is written by Chandrayaan-3. Every Indian's aspirations and hopes are elevated as it soars high. This outstanding accomplishment is evidence of our scientists' unwavering commitment. He wrote: "I appreciate their enthusiasm and resourcefulness. 

President Droupadi Murmur tweeted her sincere congratulations to the ISRO team and everyone who put in so much effort to pull off the feat. "It shows the country's persistent dedication to the development of space research and technology. My sincerest wishes for the moon mission's success," she wrote.

The following 42 days are spent at work.

The launch of Chandrayaan-3 went just as planned. However, the spacecraft must now undergo a number of maneuvers over the course of 42 days in order to begin its drop to the lunar surface.

According to project director of the Chandrayaan-3 spacecraft, there are still several crucial events that must take place shortly, including earth-bound maneuvers, entry into the lunar orbit, lander separation, a set of maneuvers, and a power descent phase for a smooth landing.

After receiving all necessary permits, the LVM3 spacecraft is now prepared for launch, according to mission director Kumar. He has given the mission his approval to launch. Currently, the automatic launch process is set to start shortly.

Prior to the launch of the Chandrayaan-3 mission, ISRO Chairman S. Somanath arrived at mission control. The rocket is currently undergoing final inspections by scientists as the mission approaches its launch time of 14:35:17 (2.35 PM IST). 

 

A renowned scientist from the Space named Kumar is in charge of leading the LVM3-M4/ 3 mission. Prior to that, he directed the LVM3-M3 mission's successful commercial launch of the One Web India 2 satellites. 

 

The delay in the launch of Chandrayaan-2

On July 15, 2019, the day before it was originally scheduled to launch, the Chandrayaan-2 mission was at the Space Center's launch pad. However, an abnormality was found roughly an hour before launch, forcing the launch to be aborted. After the issue was rectified, 2 was launched on July 22.

 

Such timetable modifications are common for space missions. For instance, the NASA Artemis 1 mission saw two failed launches before launching successfully on its third attempt. It is preferable to be safer than sorry when launching costly missions into the harsh atmosphere of space.
