When The History Of Fox Hunting

When Since the concept was first introduced in the 1930s or around the 1930s, the use of tactical flashlights to assist the police and military in identifying targets before shooting has saved countless lives and made the jobs of soldiers and officers much easier. Although common now, when the use of these lights was first introduced, it was a major tactical innovation. In the intervening years, tactical lighting has evolved considerably, and now different bulb, battery and housing technologies allow one-handed or hands-free lighting in a variety of very different tactical situations.

Police use.

The original innovators of the tactical flashlight were police departments that needed an easy way to properly identify suspects in low-light situations while still firing their weapon if necessary. Specialized tactical flashlights have been developed that can be easily held alongside the firearm, allowing officers to clearly see what the weapon aimed at. As tactical gear has improved over the years, so have these lights; Most police tactical flashlights use LEDs that give them unprecedented bulb life with minimal battery consumption, while using custom housings that are damage resistant and can be physically attached to the weapon itself, allowing the officer to either have a free hand or to use both hands on the firearm.

Military use.

Like the police, the military needs specialized tactical lighting that will not interfere with the soldier's duties. Military tactical flashlights can come in a variety of styles, some of which are similar to those used by police officers, while others are designed with specific uses in mind. Many military tactical flashlights can be attached to clothing instead of firearms, allowing soldiers a wider view of the area while keeping their hands free for handling the gun or other weapons. Most of these lights will have specialized filters or in some cases specialized bulbs that allow them to illuminate the area for night vision or infrared goggles without giving away their location in bright light.

Athletes and other outdoor enthusiasts

Of course, tactical flashlights and similar tactical equipment are not only used by soldiers and police officers. Many hunters, sportsmen, and other outdoors men will use this same equipment on early morning hunts, allowing them to maneuver through wooded areas without having to carry a larger flashlight or lantern. This can be especially helpful when setting up a deer stand or when setting up a hunting spot in low light situations as they will be able to have their hands free to work while ensuring they have enough light to see what they are doing. A number of these dedicated sportsmen will use light filters or specialized bulbs similar to those used by soldiers so as not to frighten wildlife; the light changes to a hue that deer or other animals that may hunt will not notice. These tactical lights can also help prevent potential legal issues that could be caused by larger lights, as their smaller size makes them nearly impossible to use to illegally illuminate games to stun it.
