Kazi Nazrul Islam ( May 25, 1899 - August 25, 1976) a Bengali poet, musician, philosopher, best known for his pioneering role in Bengali poetry. One of the most literary, patriotic and nationa poets of Bangladesh. His poems and songs are equally appreciated in both Bengal - West Bengal and Bangladesh. He was called a rebel poet because of his rebellious attitude in his poetry. The main theme of his poem was the protest of human oppression and slavery against slavery.
