This week I was sitting on the phone with technical support, and over and over again, I thought about the things I could have done while sitting there - waiting - not living my life.
Are you still “holding on” to your life?
Do you expect your spouse to come, or do he / she do better for you? Are you looking for inspiration to design your home? Are you waiting for a good job to fall into your lap? Are you waiting to win the lottery to plan your retirement?
What a wait in your life! The only difference between you and people who get what they want, is that they keep going but you did not. Here are some ideas to help you get started.
Focus on who, not what.
If you find you have been stuck on a goal for a long time, try repeating "who I am" instead of "what I want". For example, instead of saying, "I want to lose 30 lbs." Be as specific as possible. Note that the phrase “I want to be a helper” can mean anything from a store clerk to a heart surgeon. Focus on what you want to be. Then ask yourself what actions would be most appropriate for your desire to "become" instead of "find".
Analyze it.
Did you know that a full 80% of your problems come from 20% of your life? True! Find out what the 20% is that affects most of your life, and start working to make it happier, more productive, and more satisfying.
Assign Value.
The biggest mistake I see in my training clients is not providing real value for your time, your energy, your money, and the "real place" (location) of your home or office. Note that in each case, she says, 'No, to the movie,' and 'No, to the other person.' Always ask yourself - is this * precious * enough for me that I am squeezing my life, or even taking something out of my closet, my routine, my money?
Set the schedule.
I know you have a “pizza night” - so why not go back to “credit night” or “clean your room night” again? Like a pizza night, processes occur in every way in your life. Although it sounds boring and restrictive, conventional methods are liberating. In the same way you should not think about dinner on pizza night, instead of worrying and worrying on Monday morning and wondering if you remember to pay for car insurance, you will feel calm knowing that you are going to the bank every Friday. afternoon and pay the bills on Wednesday. in the evening. Trails release pressure.
Accept the ability to control.
We have all heard about the denials of political doctors. I would like to introduce the concept of ‘control’ in your daily life. You cannot control the politics of the world, but you can vote. You cannot control terrorism, but you can prepare for it at home. You cannot control construction workers on the highway, but you can control how much time you spend traveling. Knowing what you can control and use that, and letting go of what you can do, puts you in the driver's seat in your life.
Feeling happy about yourself will come when you stop waiting and start creating the life you really want to live. Stress and frustration will diminish as you make decisions instead of being pushed. You will get a higher sense of self-acceptance, and self-improvement will be easier and simpler.
