Snapchat Launches ,what to Celebrate Vasant Panchami and Saraswati Puja

Multimedia instant messaging app Snapchat has launched several AR experiences to mark Vasant Panchami (also called Basant Panchami) or Saraswati Puja, as India prepares for the onset of spring. These new localised lenses along with special themed Bitmojis will help to capture the joy of this festive period and pay tribute to Goddess Saraswati.

The new lenses give Snapchatters a vibrant canvas of festive designs and wishes 'Happy Vasant Panchami' to those who view it.

There will also be a section in Lens Explorer dedicated to all the community-made Vasant Panchami special lenses from February 4 to 6.

This will include a newly developed Vasant Panchami lens by Mohnish Raut, an online lens creator who is part of Original Lens creator at Snapchat. Previously, he has delivered some unique lenses that have showcased his creativity and skills as a lens creator on Snapchat.

Investors are snapping up shares of Snap after the owner of the disappearing message platform Snapchat surprised Wall Street by posting a quarterly profit for the first time. The stock jump came Thursday after Facebook parent Meta saw its worst one-day stock price decline in its history, showing that while internet and social media companies are sometimes lumped together by Wall Street, their fortunes often diverge.

Shares of Snap were up $14.30 (roughly Rs. 1,000), or 58 percent, to $38.89 (roughly Rs. 2,900) in after-hours trading. The stock, which tends to be volatile, lost nearly 24 percent in the regular trading session following Meta's plunge.

“Snapchat is clearly not as prone to the ‘TikTok effect' as Meta, with strong daily active user growth in all regions, including North America," said Insider Intelligence analyst Jasmine Enberg. She referred to the decline in user growth at Facebook that is in large part due to competition from TikTok, the popular video sharing app.

Snap, the parent company of Snapchat, has unveiled a brand new app called Story Studio. The standalone video editing app is currently available for iOS users and will allow creators using an iPhone to make vertical videos to share on different platforms. Using Story Studio, layers and captions can be added to a video. Also, edited videos can be exported directly to Snapchat to share as Story or on Spotlight. They can be downloaded and shared via other channels as well. Currently, Story Studio is available in select regions.

Snap during its Snap Partner Summit in May this year, introduced Story Studio that would allow creators to build TikTok-like short videos using various editing tools. Snap describes Story Studio as a fast and fun way for creators to make more advanced, engaging vertical videos to share anywhere. The app is currently listed on Apple's App Store.

The Story Studio app comes with editing tools that can be used for frame-precise trimming. It allows adding captions, stickers, and layers to videos. Users can also select suitable songs and audio clips for their videos from the app. Additionally, with the Story Studio app, iPhone users can try out the latest viral Snapchat Lens as well.

It will also let you add visual effects using AR lenses that transform faces, bodies, and whole scenes. As mentioned, with the app, the Snapchat Sounds library including a catalog of licensed tracks and user-created audio will be available for all users.
