Mantra Jaap is the part of spiritual practice found in different religions. Some say practicing mantra Jaap or reciting the mantras without following the rituals are also very beneficial. These are certain sounds connected to vibrations. Repeatedly chanting certain terms helps in energizing and harmonizing the cosmic vibration in our surroundings. Mantra jaap helps in healing by restoring the balance of vibrations in nature. Traditionally, the string of beads of 108 is used that helps to keep the record of number of times the word is pronounced. Some shorter ones of 54 and 27 beads are also used. Some religious festivals are linked to mantra jaap and meditation where people concentrate on the problems in hand and continuously repeat the words to have a better vision of their problems. Virbations and healing These days’ modern yoga teachers explain how the use of certain sounds in yoga can help in healing. Most of these are based on the sound of vowels. The mantra for sinus is Mmmmm, ears are Nnnnn, Eyes is eeemm and throat is Gaagha and for the jaw is Yaa Yu Tai. Some words are used for activating the chakras or the points of consciousness, which helps in transforming the way we connect to the surrounding. Chakras mean wheels and there are seven chakras located along the spine. Most overburdened or depressed people in the world suffer from spinal problems, loss of focus, anxiety and body pains. Those who are highly depressed are unable to connect to the surroundings may suffer from chronic fatigue due to spinal issues. To get back the energy it is necessary to harness the life forces which are activated by the chakras, while, mantras plays a key role in the activation process. Mantra and chakras It is advised to start from the lowest chakras and pay attention to the points where these chakras are located, and then repeat the sounds associated to each chakra to enhance the power and get rid of the blockages of these points. To activate the base chakras the mantra Laam is used, which helps in improving survival instinct. People who are insecure and feel they may lose the grip of life suffer from the problems of base chakras. The second is related to inspiration and creation. The mantra for the second chakras is Vaam. The third chakra is related to ego. People may consider themselves to be neutral, but they fail to identify that ego may be causing a blockage in their growth. To release personal ego repeat the word Raam that is associated with the 3rd chakra. The fourth is for the unconditional love and compassion, and it is related to word Yaam. The fifth is linked to the power of creativity. It is related to organ throat and its mantra is Haam. The sixth is about insight and inspiration. It is located between the brows and its word is Kshaam. The top one is Omm which indicates the connection with the cosmic energies where the soul is able to reach beyond boundaries and is no more self-centered.
