Once there lived a brahmin named child he was unmarried and was a rishi but he was having a dream to have a son who is immortal and thus decided to meditate..he meditate hard and then seeing his meditation lord indra came and asked for his wish ... He told the wish but indra said it is beyond his powers try to please lord shiva ...
He meditated , years rolled , seasons rolled and then came shiva and blessed him , asked him for his wish .
He told his wish to which shiva replied "" hey muni once brahma said that shiva would himself would come on the earth as a child and now the moment has came i would take birth as your child and you would be my father and my name would be NANDI ""
Saying this he dissapeared...........
One day shilad muni was preparing for some yagya and then by shiva's power a child came as a soul from his body with 8 hands 3 eyes 5heads and immense heat and light ... He was nandi ... He took the boy to his ashram where the boy took the appearance of a simple person..
Now when he reached the age of 5 years he was knowing all the 4 vedas and 18 purans ... One day a great muni visited his ashram and told nandi's father that the boy would die in a year ..listening this his father went into deep sorrow .. Nandi told his father that no one can kill me whether a god or a demon or all together .. But as being a father he was protective and scolded his son that saying "" you are human you neither have done some tapasya nor you are a god then how come i believe you""".To which Nandi replied "" father i would please shiva by doing his bhajan"".
Saying this he left his home and went to do shiva bhajan in a den.. He closed his eyes and figured shiva appearance and pleased shiva powers his attitude his behaviour in his own words...
To which shiva after a period of time gave him blessing with his wife and asked Nandi to ask for anything he wanted.Nandi cried and grabbed the feet of shiva saying that i want to be with you and my mother(sati).. To which shiva said "" my boy from today onwards you would be my ""gana adhyaksha"" (head of my bhakts or gans) and will always be a bodygaurd for your mother.. Anyone who pleases you would be lovable for me.
Nadi from that day remains with shiva as his lovable and too after some time during his abhishek he was married to a girl named suyasha

1) Nadi is a avtar of shiva .
2) shiva once became a son whose father was shilad
3) Nadi wife was suyasha
4) anyone who chant nandiswar is similar to chant lord shiva
