Search Engines and How They Work

Search Engines are special Web sites designed to help people find information stored on other sites. There are differences in different ways Search engines work, but they all perform three basic functions

Search online or select pieces online based on that keywords,

They keep a list of words they find, and where they find them, and

Allows users to browse for words or combinations of words found in them that index.

Early Search Engines contained indexes of only a few hundred thousand pages at once texts, and he received perhaps one or two thousand questions each day. Today, Top Search Engine will index hundreds of millions of pages, and respond tens of millions of questions a day.

Before a Search Engine can tell you where a file or document is, it should be found. For information on the hundreds of millions of Web pages available, a Search engine uses special software robots, called spiders, to build their list of names found on websites. 

When a spider builds its own list, the process is called wing.

To create and maintain a useful list of keywords, Search Engine spiders you have to look at more pages. How a spider begins its journey over The web? Common starting points are a list of the most widely used and well-known serves pages. The spider will start with a favorite spot, pointing to the words on its pages, and follow all links within the site. In this way, the spidering system soon begins to move, spreading to the most used parts of the Web.

Once the spiders have completed the task of finding information on Web pages, the Search Engine should store information in a way that makes it usable. There are two key components involved in making the collected data accessible to users:

Information stored with data, once

How information is identified.

In the simplest case, a Search Engine can save the name and URL where it was found. In fact, this will make the engine of limited use, because there would be no way to say that the word was used in an important place or  small path on the page, whether the word is used once or multiple times or even if the page contains links to other pages that contain the name. In other words, there would be no way to build a list of level attempts to present the most useful pages at the top of the list of search results.

For the most effective results, most search engines store more than just name and URL. The Search engine can store the number of times that word appears on the page. The engine may give weight to each entry, with increase the number of words assigned as they appear near and above the document, in subtitles, links, META tags or in the title of the page. Each search engine has a different weighting formula, the names of its reference. This is one of the reasons why search terms are the same Different search engines will produce different lists, and pages submitted with different orders
